We are looking at having the kids do an event in Wright City which is west of Stl area. Are there any overland routes sortof near Wright City or are they only in southern MO?
Coming to the party late but had a question. We will be coming from central Il so it will take us 7 hrs to get to Crandon and the start. Is there a good area/place to stop an hour or so into the trail so the next day we could get to the end to camp on the peninsula??
would it be a rushed day...
I have a f-150 with a winch and ko2 tires but that is it. Would like to take the wife on a 5 day trip in mid november. We are from illinois so possibly SE area. Or OK or TX. Any ideas for a mild trip???
Thanks. I can always try it and see how it works for us before complicating things. We typically drive daily on these long trips exploring national parks, etc... so the battery would recharge daily while driving.
I need help figuring out how to power a 60w draw fridge in my van. I am tired of extended trips with the cooler we havr and everything getting wet etc... all i need is to power the fridge. Would a jackery 300 work plus 200w solar panels to charge the jackery? What is the best way to power...
We will be boondocking in the lincoln nat forest near white sands nm in the first week of may. Does anyone know what the times get to at night? it is at about 9,500 ft elev. i dont have a heat source for boondocking wondering if i need to figure something out.
I have a week this summer and will be leaving from Illinois. There will be two of us. One is a ford raptor and the other a f-150. One truck has a winch. We have one long week. So 5-7 of actual overlanding. What would be a good overland trip?
We have had a popup camper the last two years so actually i can camp with a current ground tent with no further expense on that front. I have all the camp stuff i need already. But i can see how this all adds up quickly. Ive done a hidden winch. And i need new shocks anyway so that is...
Curious, at it’s lowest setting is it almost flush with the bed rails of thr truck? I want to get these and have them lowered to secure stuff in the bed and then raise them up while camping.
Yea i am going to stick with the tires i have. I have 125,000 miles on the truck now so need new shocks probably so will do the bilsteins all around to give 2” lift up front then do the rtt route.
Nice truck. Do you tow? Does your nose stick up when towing? I tow a 6,000lbish boat all through the summer. Thinking i should raise rear 1” also for towing.
Mainly washed out FS trails and mud holes on those trails is where i get into problems. My front license plate was just under the winch and it got ripped off somewhere last trip. Couple inches lift will hopefully help.
