At this years Rendezvous in Ozarks there was a gentleman that had a 1927 Model T that had all of the stuff needed to overland. Tent, cooler, stove etc he was depicting a early 1930's setup.
I am sure that by now you have found Indiana is is not real flush with overlanding opportunities. But fear not being that far South you are very close to KY ( LBL ) and other places in Eastern KY.
There are dispersed campsites in the Hoosier National. I am more familiar with the Northern section around Bloomington. The maps that you can download from the US Forest Service will have the camp areas on them. I will say that when the weather is nice the campsites fill quickly.
Just winterize it like a RV water system, get as much water out as possible and then put RV Antifreeze in it. Of course you will need to flush it good in the spring. Just DO NOT put cooling ( engine ) antifreeze in it. Can usally get it at Lowes, Farm Supply places or if all else fails RV dealer.
