Thanks for all the feedback. It got me looking and sure enough there was a tiny funnel under the front passenger seat with the jack gear. However, I had already ordered and tested (as soon as I got back from my trip) a funnel just like the one supplied by the dealer and no way in heck will it...
I almost learned the hard way that my CARB compliant fuel cans would not work with my new truck that has a capless fuel tank. While I have used these cans with my old truck (2017 Ram 1500), my new truck (2022 Ram 1500) has a capless fuel tank. When I tried to pour the fuel into my tank it went...
Have headed over to the Monongahela National Forest the last couple of weekends. Now it is time to prepare for the annual trip to the North Maine Woods. Taking two whole weeks off this year. Leaving September 4th and should be back September 17th. Getting new tires put on the truck this week.
Going to be heading out on Friday (hopefully) after work. I get off work fairly early so hope to make it to some place before dark. Not sure how much this trip will be a camping trip vs. an exploration trip. Three day holiday coming up in a couple of weeks. :)
You know. I went up to Maine to the North Maine Woods the last week of August. By the time I went I had forgotten all about this thread. Maybe it was just the excitement of going. Not sure what else happened with any others.
So I went to it Saturday. The rain was not too bad. Question. How does this event in Virginia compare to the other ones out west in terms of size? Number of vendors and people attending? My impression was that it was much smaller from accounts I have watched, but of course can’t be certain...
I just purchased a portable propane fire pit. My question is about the “rocks” that you are suppose to place inside the pit. After spending last week bouncing around on some very rough terrain, is it safe to transport the rocks still in the fire pit or could it cause damage to the burners? Do...
It is finally here! Time to head north to the North Maine Woods! I think I will be leaving after work on the 19th and will be returning to VA on the 28th.
It will be July this week. Time to start thinking about my next annual trip to the North Maine Woods. I am planning on departing August 20th from here in Virginia and returning August 28th.
I just bought a battery powered grass trimmer to be part of my “over landing” load out. Now that it is almost summer here in Virginia, I have noticed a lot of the dispersed camp sights I have been checkout out often have grass growing in them. Ticks and chiggers anyone?
So the question is...
Had another good weekend camping but the huge pile of fresh bear shit in my location made for a rather sleepless Friday night. Slept better Saturday night. All a question of drinking enough before bed.
