Yeah it’s the 180. At 400lbs we’re close (about 350). We got a great deal on it so we’re going to run it and see how it goes . I’ll keep you all posted on the progress.
It is a reinforced contractor cap. I looked into this model and the dynamic load is 400lbs. I know that with us and a bit of gear In it were getting close with a 130lb tent....
Hello!!
I’m currently looking at truck caps for my 14 GMC Sierra. The end goal is to run our RTT on top, wondering if anybody knows if this Leer cap can handle the weight.
I just came across this on FB and was pretty excited at the prospect so figured I’d share it here. Looks like there’s an Overland “expoish” event in Ontario in September!
I’m just in the beginning stages of this build. The plan is to put a topper on just deciding which one to go with. I’m 6’7” so sleeping in the bed of any of the trucks I’ve had doesn’t happen often but it’s nice to know that I can if needed. As the build progresses we’ll be posting about it all...
When I say “stealth camping” I’m referring to situations (though rare) mainly when traveling through urban areas where deploying a rooftop tent for example may not be feasible are safe. Think WallMart parking lot or truck stop parking lots.
This is the thread I was looking for! New member from Washago. Will be watching this space for any Meetups, runs etc. Looking forward to meeting some folks!
Welcome to OB Emre!
