Right, but parts of the Mojave River were above ground nearby, and since the surface waters do not move fast it made a swamp-like environment. Thanks for the tips Donald, Brian
Hello everyone.
My wife and I went to Afton Canyon campground last week and we must say that it sucked! (clickbait)
OK, the campground itself was nice and I will go again for the Mojave Road but the bugs there were trying to suck the blood out of us and prevented us from spending the time there...
Thanks for the invite, Thursdays would work for me, too bad I did not see this sooner I would have been there. I work the weekends and end up missing a lot of outings because of it. I will mark 05/30/24 on my calendar. Thanks again, Brian
I would like to go but my work days are Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays if you have anything planned from Monday through Thursday let me know. Thanks, Brian
Cheers to our non-petite Tundras! :yum: They might be full-figured, but they sure know how to strut their stuff! I am in the same predicament as you and find myself going out alone far too often than I should. Take care, Brian
I apologize to you Lawrence if my comments were viewed as anything but supportive, for that was not my intent. Hope to see you on the trail someday, Brian
That sounds like fun, I would tag-a-long but I think I am a bit of an oddball, I work weekends. Inye26, you have a Tundra! No excuse unless you don't have 33"s, Ok, the ham ticket would be nice to have but still no reason not to go. Is it ok if Lawrence joins you Ron? Enjoy your outing.
More of an open door to anyones thoughts about this new radio that is not yet approved at this time. For example, would you get one? yes, no .would this be a good radio for the overlander, can/would you compare it to other radios for our use or anything else that you would like to comment about...
Thanks James “80 miles isn't uncommon with a properly installing rig” that kinda was my point. Yes everyone here is right A lot can be done on 2m under the right conditions but this is a repeatable benchmark from my home qth and living in a valley Im happy to hit any repeater that is not local...
I finished installing my FT-857 into my truck but still need to add to it as I go. So far only using 2m but it seems to be working pretty well testing it with a repeater 80 miles away from my QTH. I am running the headphone jack to the AUX into the stereo so I can listen to it through the radio...
Good going Salina or now known as KE0ZLR of the airwaves. I look forward to meeting you on the air once I rebuild my shack. Again congratulations, Brian aka King Elephant 6 Steps Going East.
