    SPOT vs APRS? Why Not Both.

    Playing with APRS too. Coverage can become spotty when you are out of range for the next repeater (2m/70cm). Running a TM-D710 in my rig. Have no it been able to make many contacts. Anyone interested in setting a time for a QSO?

    @Gunnermoose if memory serves me right you are also a ham. Do you monitor a particular frequency while out on the trail. I will only be able to do a family day trip but want to go on the air a bit this weekend. Would love to check in with you to see how the trip to the plateau is going.

    What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

    Had to park the rig in the garage for an extended period. Airbag recall makes the passenger seat unusuable. Dealer gave me a rental to haul the kids, but I am not allow to drive my favorite car. Sucks. :tired: Hope to use the time for some mods. Mount and hook up the radio(s), maybe a roof rack?
