my FJ is not a daily driver and stays in the garage but I pull my ICOM 5100 out because I use it in the house and in my Tundra. When I had a CB and GMRS radio installed I just left them in all the time.
My midland wouldn't let me do higher power on FRS. it forced you to use low power, I'm not sure it was 0.5 Watt. Max was 15 watts. I got the Icom 5100 with MARS mod so I can transmit on MURS and FRS/GMRS for emergencies. I still carry a GMRS handheld with me too. And a CB that's not even...
HAM everyone has to have a license, GMRS you can just use FRS if someone doesn't have their GMRS license. HAM you can also talk on FRS and GMRS but not legally with a HAM radio, but most people don't care.
I plan on doing some offroading in Oklahoma this weekend on some 4x4 required back roads., I'll take them down to 35psi, that's after driving 3 hours to get to the trail head so I guess that's more like 32psi maybe 30psi cold.
I have ten ply 80psi max tires. My Brother's tail team fj came with ten plies and the door sticker said 45psi. I get the best ride on the highway at 48psi and also good even tread wear. When I ran lower around 40 I was seeing wear on the outside of my tires. Same thing when I ran nitto ten...
Camped at lbj last night, pretty much every spot was taken. I just parked in a field and setup camp. Used my fire pit so I didn't create a fire ring.

Hopefully good weather then too. That's the bad part about camping you almost have to wait until the week you want to camp to decide. I hate warm weather while camping.
