Thanks! Agreed. Of the limited aftermarket bumper options for these rigs, TrailReady is the cleanest and doesn’t hang down lower than stock. Too many are just massive in a not so good way. I opted to match the rear also. Haven’t figured out lights yet but I’ll get to it eventually
First pic was before I got the winch installed. Gotta get an updated pic with it finished but there’s a pic of my m12 winch stuffed in there. I think they claim it will fit up to a 15k.
sorry this is kinda long....
But, I've been an Iridium customer for the past 10+ years and have had both 9555/9575 phones for work as I'm on call 24/7 for some critical services and travel to remote areas (in the US) without cell coverage a few times a year and both devices have been really...
3/4 ton all came with 245/75R16 as far as I know. I have seen 265/75/16 as available options, but never seen one come from the factory with them.
265/75R16 is a good size. I would highly suggest that if you go taller, go wider. I have tried the tall skinny route (235/85R16) and it...
all in with shocks, thats about right. Yeah they aren't cheap but Cognito does it right. To do a 4-6" kit correctly its about $2500-3k If you go cheap your handling and ride quality will suffer as well as other components wearing out prematurely. It's unfortunately the nature of the beast...
Cognito Motorsports have made a good name for themselves. Several others have copied their designs but it works well for the mild lift. Personally I think a 6” lift is a bit much unless you really need that much clearance. It’s a big truck so the biggest tire for the least lift should be...
Just did Bodie and Copper Mountain with mine this last weekend. Did great. A few desert pinstripes but the rig handled it like a champ and still cruised home on the highway and hauled a trailer back on the way home!
looks like this will be my first OB trip. looking forward to it. Is there any requirements to join one of these trips? I assume a full-size rig (minor lift) is capable enough for this run? Thx.
I really
They work really well. It’s a good balance of larger size without being too big that performance suffers. I do notice that rpms are down a bit but 1600 rpm at 70 with the torque from the diesel is still perfectly drivable with stock 3.73’s. Otherwise if your loaded a lot with less...
Haven't made too many changes in recent months, a few minor things and a couple small trips. Made it to King Of the Hammers this year after a 4 year hiatus. Got to tow my old JK down for a friend. Truck pulled like a champ. Avg 14MPG over 900 miles. Upgraded by ball mount/shank for the WD...
@Tatertot / @Anak
Agreed, the K2500 series burbs are heavy... over 5700 lbs! before you start loading them up. The 8.1 I think is closer to 6k lbs!
Larger than stock tires without re-gearing the axle(s) makes even slower off the line.
Also the biggest restriction to "off the line power" is...
With the Awning deployed, how is the interference between it and opening the back hatch?
I’ve been contemplating putting on on my yukon xl rack but concerned about how that hatch would contact the awning. Thx.
I figured I'd share my list of all part numbers I've acquired over the years that pertain to my particular vehicle. Might come in handy for someone else as these trucks share a lot of common parts across the GMT-800 platform.
If you have any questions, I'll do my best to help/answer...

My family always had a suburban as I was growing up. I began to appreciate the usefulness of them at a young age. I learned to drive and took my drivers test in a 1989 V2500. Unfortunately my parents had to give it up with over 460k miles on it. But we got to replace it with another 1989...
