A buddy and I are planning a trip down to Florence, Oregon from British Columbia this summer.
We’ve decided to explore some areas in either Northern California or Southern Oregon after we’re done in Florence. Problem is I have no idea where to go, or what might be good to see. Looking for any...
Well, so far so good. Got the outer shell made, just waiting on some other hardware for the other drawer slides.
Working on designing the drawer pullouts now. I wanted one to work as a table when pulled out, with storage underneath. Seemed like a good use of space. So the shorter drawer...
I am putting together an air compressor mount in my custom drawer setup, but had no place to run a clean switch install in the rear. I don't know if anyone else is as anal as me for this stuff, but 3D printing to the rescue lol. The JL has this plastic piece to attach your wiring harness and...
In case anyone is looking for ideas on where to mount the compressor, I decided it would be worth while to design in a mounting option into the drawer frame (it doesn't slide with the drawer). Seems like as good a place as any. Hangs from the top plate and I have a shorter drawer in that side...
Yeah, the goal is that when I am not packed for a trip, those drawers stay in the rig and take up very minimal room. I need the full cargo space for everyday things, so this seemed like the best option. The idea with the zarges case is that it contains a "kitchen" like what this guy did. Then I...
Has anyone built a JL drawer system and has any recommendations on things they wish they included, or mistakes made? I have designed a 2 drawer system for tools and recovery equipment, with the dometic CFX 45 on top and a zarges case on the other side. I think it meets all the requirements, but...
Wired up a dual battery to power the newly acquired Dometic fridge, and boy, what a game changer. Odyssey 45AH AGM battery, which can safely cycle 80%, giving a usable ~33AH. American Adventure Labs has a great mounting solution for the unused storage space under the rear cargo area.
Ran 6GA...
Dual battery for the dometic. Odyssey PC1100 with a renogy DCDC charger. Had to mount the Renogy upside down because of how the power is distributed and the locations for this particular mount. Good thing it's covered so my OCD won't kick in.
The house battery will be dedicated to a fridge. Interestingly enough, Redarc and Renogy both recommend 6 gauge and 40 amp fuses for their 20/25A DCDC chargers. I was considering actually changing my setup to go that route.
Did you ever have any issues with those fuses? I was reading some...
I decided on adding a house battery, so I've ordered the following:
Renogy 20A DCDC Charger (would like to upgrade to Redarc 1225 in the future, but not in the budget now)
Odyssey PC1100
American Adventure Labs rear cargo bracket (Jeep JL)
I was planning on a 70amp fuse and 4 gauge wire. Are...
I posted a forum topic specifically because of this. If you are OCD like me, there is a full smart assessment forum that could help you out. What First Aid Equipment Should I/You Carry?
I created an assessment form in google docs to allow people to conduct a risk assessment of their activities to help list the correct first aid equipment. There are a lot of posts here and other on other forums of people asking what type of first aid supplies to bring on their trip. Personally...
On another forum there has been some demand for license plate options and 3rd brake light, so that has now been changed for the updated model. So some more changes have been made.
And with the hardware sorted, it mounts up snug as a bug to the tire. Now to find some damn water rotopaxs, because they are sold out everywhere in Canada.
