UPDATE:
First time ordering from campsaver.com.
Order date: May 2nd
Campsaver placed PO with OVS: May 12th
Shipping: May 14th. (after I called OVS and they promised to expedite)
Over 2 weeks to deliver is somewhat unacceptable to me, but i'll attribute some of that covid.
I saved $225 on this...
Also, fyi for those looking for this awning. Campsaver currently has 25% off full priced items with code FLASH25. Takes $225 off the price of this awning.
Just ordered this awning. Looks great. Anyone mount this on a Rhino Rack Pioneer rack? I’m going to mount this on my Jeep JL 4dr. Any tips appreciated.
Cheers!!
I’m heading to Arizona for a trip this weekend and plan on putting it to the test, even if only with the magnetic mount. I’ll report back ASAP. Trying to find a good app to measure performance, but doesn’t seem to be much out there.
I did consider that, but assumed a newer product likely has better technology and possibly better coverage. Also found a video on YouTube that did a comparison and found the Reach marginally better..
Just got the WeBoost Drive Reach and am wondering where other Jeep owners are mounting the external antenna. WeBoost recommends the hood, but the new JL’s have an aluminum hood and my hardtop is obviously fiber glass. Suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.
Finalized the deal at overland East and picked up an in stock unit that looked like it had been sitting in an open lot for quite a while. So doesn’t look pristine but will do because it’s meant to be beat up anyways ;)
i looked at all of these and more. Most of them coming in between $20k and $35k whichI thought were definitely overpriced and didn’t think would hold up long. I even saw used Moby trailers for ~$25k. Then I came across the Opus. Tent top not my first preference but the value for money was...
Exactly the reason I got the OP4. Great for a family with 3 kids and dog + close to the two rating of the JLUR. I looked at a lot of other domestic options and felt they were overpriced for the quality. The Opus is rock solid. We’ll be going on our maiden voyage next weekend and will how it...
Thanks for the great tips folks. You make me think about me next big question- what do we do for personal safety? Critical with 3 young kids and a small dog.
Mike, thanks again and love the specific route tips. Also would have never thought of wiper blades. I’ll PM you my number so we can chat and exchange information and I’ll provide you all the info on Iceland. Cheers.
Thank you for the suggestions. The problem is that there are no auxiliary fuel tanks available for the JL yet. I’m considering adding an AEV fuel caddy that will add 10 gal + 1 Jerry can (5 gal). The trailer has space for 2 Jerry cans and I will have 1 remaining for water (in addition to the 2...
I likely the simplicity of the article. Comprehensive yet simple. Some good tips in there that are on my list. I’m exploring your site and have run into your Big Bend article now, which i will refer to for my Christmas trip planning. Thanks.
Your site was my first stop in the planning since it came up on a search. The Jeep has a spare and the trailer has its own spare. Do you think we need more?
Folks
First of all, thank you for having this wonderful forum full of inspiration and advice for newbies like myself. We are in the beginning stages of planning for a trip in 2020 and would really appreciate some help.
Some details.
