Got the X back earlier this week and couldn’t resist throwing my drawers in. It rides so much better on this suspension setup than my first one did.
It’s got 5100’s front and rear, Dobinson springs, and ADO Broverland leaf packs.
Now it’s time to plan for my trip to Shenandoah next month and...
Perfect! I’m planning on planning a beach camping trip now so that definitely sounds like something that would be beneficial. Since my lift is so far out, I may just bring the X home so I can tinker on it while I wait.
So, some good news… didn’t blow the rear diff. Turns out what we were all certain was gear noise was actually a broken leaf spring rubbing on the tire. Our guess is the diving board effect was sending the chatter down the diff and making it sound like gear noise.
So while that’s awesome news...
Been an interesting couple of months. Fairly certain I blew the diff out of the X last week so I’m waiting for the final diagnosis and estimate on that.
But while that’s been down I decided to finally tackle the drawer system I’ve been stocking supplies for for months. Pretty happy with the...
Took the new X for its first trip this weekend. While I didn’t find much in terms of off roading around Hoosier National Forest, we did manage to find a pretty decent place to camp with easily more than enough space for 2-3 more vehicles.
Got my 285/75/16 General Grabber A/Tx’s installed, still need to do the melt mod so they rub a hair. Can’t wait to “break” them and the truck in tomorrow on some light trails
There was a silver one in Chicago I was going to try to buy if this one fell through. Easier to find body panels lol. Hopefully you were able to pull your parts off of your old one
Got the X registered yesterday so I spent last night and this morning just messing around with it. Installed some of my old interior parts, threw the ladder on since nobody seemed to want to buy it (♂️) and removed the side steps and mud flaps. Nothing too exciting but it made it more up to my...
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to pull the suspension and tires off but it’s okay. I wasn’t happy with what I put on it anyway.
I can’t wait to pull my parts out of the storage unit and get to installing them. Winch Mount will be the next purchase after tires.
Well, I did a thing today. I was about to pull the trigger on buying a GX470 when I found this and couldn’t pass it up. 33’s will be ordered once it gets registered... god, I’m so excited to be back
Quarantine boredom has finally set in (and since I’ve quit stressing over the X). I had purchased all the pieces to make a DIY tabletop skottle a couple weeks ago but hadn’t taken the time to actually do it. Initially I planned on breaking it in at the gorge at the end of the month but I don’t...
Yeah, I’m itching to get out and explore again. It’s in the best hands that I know of so if it take a little longer I’m okay with it.
No full paint job, just a blend. Which is fine cause I plan on raptor lining it eventually.
Well, they didn’t total it out. Came really close though. Shipped it off to the body shop this afternoon so all my travels have been postponed indefinitely (though this Coronavirus isn’t helping)
I finally got a copy of the accident report from the police, and thankfully the guy has insurance. They said an adjuster would contact me in three business days so let’s hope they don’t total it out. Though I’ll buy it back if they do
