If your interested check out the FB group (RVing to Alaska 2019 - the original). I run the group and have over 3300 members and we all report gas prices, camping spots, good grub and anything else of interest for those driving up. In the prequalifying questions just say I referred you. Even...
We made the drive in 2017. Here is the start of that playlist from that weekend. https://youtu.be/E1dpfdGdk-U
We don’t have it in the plans this year as we want to do the Dempster but never say never.
End of July we are flying up to Barrow for a weekend to say we’ve been to the Northern...
This is our second season up and there almost isn’t a road we haven’t touched. We spent summer of 2017 in Alaska and did it all. This summer we plan to slow down and just enjoy our favorite areas. And yes Hope is a cute little town. We stayed near there at Summit Lake and visited one August...
So I realize this thread is a little old but we leave for Alaska in a couple of weeks and need to do a few of these mods ourselves. If your still needing to do some tinkering let us know. Our to do list is a galley box and possibly solar. (We are well versed in solar, over 2000w on the roof of...
Aloha... we are new to the OB community and live in Nine Mile Falls (Spokane). We travel A LOT but when home its always nice to have someone to go find some dirt with.
Although we aren't residents we are returning for our second trip up to Alaska next month to spend the summer. We'd love to meet up with anyone and hit some dirt with you. We are from Eastern Washington and tow our F150 behind our motorhome to get deeper and farther into the woods when we travel.
Aloha Jedi! Yes Spokane is very far from island life. The wife use to live on Kauai and we were married on Kauai hence living our lives with Aloha. We are very excited to get more involved in the OB community. We are going to try and make the May 4th overnight trip as long as we get Elsie back...

For the cab rack, I had to install the roof tracks my self. Nothing like drilling holes into your steel top. From there we went with the Rhino Racks Elevation platform on Rhino Racks towers. The setup is very tough and works well for the spare tire and traxs.
The cap we purchased is made by Snugtop and has a reinforced fiberglass roof to accommodate the heavier loads as well as factory installed roof tracks. I believe it's the Sportsman package upgrade.
