Also I found through a Mercedes agm website, some skid plate washers way cheaper than anywhere else and shipped fast. Much better than having those bolt heads just asking to get mangled
Been awhile since I’ve added the new “upgrades”. I modified the primitive skid armor by trimming a bit off each side and drilling 3/4” holes spaced out, more for better drainage as I know it’s not going to help much with heat. Also shortened so it would sit higher up but had to ditch the factory...
Ive lifted many vehicles over the years and most of them being 3" suspension lifts and I never had an issue, only time I hated a lift was a jeep LJ that I bought with a 8.5" lift, great off-road but it was hell on the highway during windy days. Could always start with small spacer lift to see...
Finally trimmed about 4" off the front bumper! The factory tow points will probably be cut off as they hang down past the skid. Only other issue was the wiper fluid reservoir, it hung down way to low. I tried to reconfigure it up higher but just wouldn't get high enough, so I'll be making my own...
Also from what I've researched, up to a 2" lift seems to be ok for our subies. I did disconnect the rear sway bar and no issues with that. May even take it off completely. The lifts from the 3 main companies all advertise that everything is included to bring the car back to near stock angles, I...
I just trimmed the front bumper yesterday!! Still no pics as I've been busy and we've had storms, but I'm hoping tomorrow to have them up. I am definitely going to do a lift when I am done with other upgrades. It's hard to decide on primative offroad vs the LP lift, both seem legit. I did take...
I like their bumper guard but it just lowers the approach angle even more, I'm eventually gonna trim the front and relocate the dogs. One day I'll have a custom bumper made but $$$$, so till then trimming works and I actually like the looks of it
Best part is I only use 2 1/2 tbsp or up to 1/4 cup depending on my coffee to fill this mason jar! I don't need any fuel, my coffee tastes better too. I save on fuel, coffee, and taste.
I'm hoping to very soon be able to really start traveling for most of the year, I've done a few trips out west up into the Pnw over a few months and spent some time in the Appalachian mountains. Really want to check out Canada soon too.
Yeah I'm not far from weir, Taylor is better than I remember it in the past. I haven't been to any of the off-road parks but really need to. I'm usually easy to spot as my car maybe gets a wash once a year hence the name FozNasty.
Do you get out on any local trips? Texas is pretty lame as far as public land goes, nm is pretty awesome, cloudcroft has become one of my new favorites.
