I would love to go, as this is so close to me, but I am only a few weeks out of major surgery, so I must pass on this one. If you happen to do another one in the spring or summer, please be sure to let me know and I will do my best to attend that one :) You guys have fun and be safe )

NC 105 & Hurricane Creek in North Carolina

Hey everyone, I'm planning a trip in Western NC in a week or so and have heard about both NC 105 & Hurricane Creek. Does anyone have any experience with these two trails? I know where they are, but not the conditions of the trails. I have a 2001 Silverado on 16's with a 2" lift. Can I make it on...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

To the first, yeah, I plan on adding sliders soon, probably Road Armor or Smitty Built. As to under skids, nothing that isn't factory yet. I do have a front skid, but nothing for diff or tank yet. I try to not get myself into any situation where I would damage those, but accidents do happen...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

So, build is finished and have been on the Transamerica Trail for the last month. Sorry for not updating sooner, just been enjoying the journey. Search Disabled Overland on YouTube to see videos if you like. Here are some pictures of the journey from the past week....

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

So, back with another build update. Meant to do one a few days ago, but just been really slammed. So, first one is not a biggie, but got rid of the chrome junk hook that came with my winch and picked up a Badlands Forged Hook. Harbor Freight just opened a store in my town and had these bad...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

Not sure who you directed the question to, but I'll answer as well :) For my rig, yes, I do go off-road with her. Nothing too technical, but I do it. The diff is stock on mine as well. As to recommending a Silverado or any pickup, that's a tough one. Most people (in my limited experience) will...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

So, got a little progress done over the last few days. Got the topper adjusted and permanently mounted to the bed of the truck. I swapped out the halogen taillight bulbs with new LED bulbs since I will not be able to access the screws to the taillight assemblies easily, so these LED's should...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

Thanks. Nice set of steel Ultra wheels from 20 years ago, lol. Got lucky and found a guy that had them for $100 for all four. Needed a lot of work, but nothing $50 and a LOT of elbow grease couldn't solve, lol. Wish I could find another for a spare, but have searched everywhere for one. Oh well...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

OK, so it's been a while. I do apologize for that. Things have been extremely hectic around here since October. Well, first, as you can see, I finally got the topper on. Also managed to pick up a used (great condition) Warn Transformer Brush Guard Winch Mount for my truck. Technically, it's for...

Thanks. Can't wait to get it all together and finished. Hopefully here in a week or two, I'll be uploading pic of the final product :)

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

So, again, been a while since I've updated, just been super busy helping my brother with his house. I've managed to just about get everything I need to finish the build, just waiting on some free time and to finish hauling so that I can permanently mount everything for the last time. Also, a...

US East WTB 270/Batwing Awning, preferably Passenger Side

Yeah, I have checked them out. That is my last resort if I can not find a decent used one. It's still kinda out of my budget, but may have to go that route if nothing else presents itself. Thank you for the information though :)

US East WTB 270/Batwing Awning, preferably Passenger Side

Looking to buy a 270 degree or "Batwing" awning for my rig. I'm not rich, lol, so if someone has one that they are willing to let go of reasonably priced, please let me know. I live in NC, but have been known to drive hundreds of miles for a good deal :)

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

Small update..... These are the wheels that I picked up for the build. Ultra Off-road Steel wheels. The one on the left is what they looked like when I got them. The one on the right is what they will look like when I'm finished with them. Also picked up two recovery boards for $20. They are...

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

Most of what you see that I've added to my build, including the truck came off of Facebook Marketplace. Might check there if you haven't already. Also check for "parting out" posts. Sometimes can find good deals there too.

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build

I got it on eBay. Was $40 plus $20 shipping. Had a few scuffs on it, but the lights work and had all the doors and connections. https://www.ebay.com/usr/saaammmm?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 There is the link to the seller. He has a bunch of parts. Not sure if he has another console or not.

    2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Build
