I tried this set up last year and it did not work well, especially in windy conditions. Tarp was not durable either. Guess the saying still applies, "You get what you pay for".

The first two images were of the Citadel Ruins, the last image is Cedar Mesa at the highway cut of Rt 95 at Comb Ridge.

I use both Gaia and a Garmin InReach with Earthmate. Still learning about the InReach with Earthmate in terms of user modification. InReach has the advantage of a satellite communication when you have no cell service. Love the Gaia flexibility with type of map and the ability to lay out a route...

Your right about the liftgate struggling when the Trasharoo starts to fill up. Right now I am using carbiners to hold the bag; I may look into a buckle system which would making the release of the Trasharoo easier.

I'm fortunate that the rear window shelf on the 4Rrunner does not impede my real wiper.
