Got two new overland hounds in July.
They were stray German shepherd that's been living on the streets of a small town.
The smaller one, Lola wasn't doing too good. She was skinny, her fur was matted and she was tired.
She was hiding in the back of her crate for about 3 days before she felt she...
That's the plan right now, just need to get a dog sitter. Would love to bring them, but bought a broken German Shepherd who will start puking her guts out 30min into the trip.
It shouldn't take me more than 3 hours to get up there, 3:30 max. Waking up at 7 am counts as sleeping in for me, so...
Got my Saturday's mixes up, I'm not working that Saturday so I'll prob join you from the start and my wife will prob meet us up somewhere once she's done at work.
What time are you heading out? Me and my wife will prob be able to come up north and join you for Sunday at least. Me with my F150 and her with her Cherokee.
I'm also new to the overland scene.

This map was a great place to start for me! Lately I been in Wharton pretty much every weekend, you should definitely try to get down there! You'll have a blast
My wife called a friend, who called a friend, who pulled me out with a winch, after he tied himself to a tree with a strap.
This was 2 months ago, drove past the same spot this Saturday
Haha, have been
Haha yeah, need to get some traction boards. Gathered whatever I could find that wasn't rotted, cant cut anything down in Wharton... also had a 2x12 in my truck, put some screws in it to get some traction. It didn't work...
Yday there was a community cleanup @ Wharton. I didn't know about it, but apparently they collected over 500lb trash.
They also removed the fallen trees from Washington road.
For what it's worth, I cleared D-S road early sunday morning.
NounEdit
home country (plural home countries)
The country in which a person was born and usually raised, regardless of the present country of residence and citizenship.
Guess I'm cheating? Born and raised in Sweden but im a US resident. These pictures were taken about an hour from my house...
That Cherokee is more capable than I thought it would be. It's easy to drive with its different settings, it got a mud, crawl and decent modes and more. My wife is pretty confident driving it through some rough mud as long as I go first.
E locker only works in 4x4 low tho, which is annoying.
Me wanting to lift my truck and put some meatier tires on it used to be "dumb".
When we picked up the jeep I said " let's lift it and put some meatier tires on it" and she said "sure" and even suggested we should put a winch on my truck! Recovery gear is now a justifiable expense instead of a...
My wife been having so much fun going out with me, she wanted to get something she could go out wheeling with. So we got her a Cherokee trailhawk (she didn't want a wrangler for every day use). Today was the second time we took it our on the trails.
