Cooler vs Fridge: Which is right for you?

That’s the way to go. We’re running a Snomaster 82d Expedition dual zone fridge freezer in our 80 series. I have a dual battery setup with an 80watt solar panel on the hood. Works pretty good![emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Heating for sleeping

We cooked and used it for heat. The little one we have goes through a 1lbs bottle every 5hrs. The larger one burns a little more. So figure no more than 2lbs of propane per night. That's at least 9-10 nights of heat in a 20lbs bottle. The best part of the annex is its toasty warm when you come...

    Heating for sleeping

The first night we only had our small heater hanging on the tent and had to have it run pretty much all night to stay warm. We were bundled up in sleeping bags with a quilt under us and on top of us. The next morning we went and bought the one pictured and put it in the annex. That night I only...

    Heating for sleeping

Here's a couple of shots from our last weekend up in WV. Was around 5-10 degrees outside with the windchill factor. I also had our smaller one hanging in the RTT and only turned it on if I had to. I put a reflective emergency blanket, not the cheap Mylar one, between the support poles and the...

    Heating for sleeping

Just make sure you have a carbon monoxide tester in the cab for safety. You'll also need a window cracked to vent.

    Heating for sleeping

You can use an adapter hose to attach it to a full size tank. The heater is a high pressure style one, hence the 1lbs bottles. The hoses can be picked up at most home improvement stores, walmart and online. Its the same one you'd use to run your typical Coleman camp stove off of a 20lbs tank.

    RTT Dumb question Alert...

Most of the new RTT have been tested in high winds. You can get on YouTube and see where Tempui and CVT both have driven down the highway at 60Mph just to test the integrity of their tents. We have a Freespirit Recreation Canopy RTT and have been in 40Mph sustained and gusting 50-60Mph during a...

    What Jacket do you wear?

Northface Hyvent. Good winter protection and the ability to break down into a light wind breaker or a spring/fall jacket.

    The Skottle Has Landed!

There's definitely an art to it. It's better to increase heat slowly or pre heat and then turn it down to the level you want. The oil temp gets up and can burn things easily if not watched. The fajitas look great!

    The Skottle Has Landed!

Glad you liked the idea. It was one of our favorite meals from our last outing. Keep an eye on the TemboTusk website for the release of the skottle cook book. They should be releasing in the near future. We submitted this one to be in the book along with several others.

    Advice sought

They're hard to find with low miles. You'll pretty much get what you pay for though. I spent $2500 for mine and it had 237k on the clock. Had to install new carpet, fix all of the oil leaks, brakes, axles, rust, etc... Some people want crazy money and they're either rusted out or have blown head...
