@Ob1
Cheers mate, I'll look into it. I have a mate running big numbers on a 1hdt so I'll see what kit he uses.
To be fair we have over a million miles on 1hdts here over the last 20 or so years and yet to have bother.
But since this 80 will be with me for the rest of my life hopefully, I'd...
I've had a look into it actually, but since I'm not running anything more than standard power in pretty happy with it the way it is. Plus worst case then it cracks and I replace it with my one of my spares.
If I go for more power then it'll get an intercooler, but I'm also happy to just trundle...
Bit of aan updates
Both riffs have been removed from the parts truck and look okay, so I'll throw them in to my good 80 and see how they go.
Started to strip underneath and use Buzzweld and Lanogaurd to give it a fresh coat and some protection, I like the lanogaurd as it doesnt leave a greasy...
Update -
So since my 80 is a 91, it came with breaks that are rubbish The spare parts truck I have has the bigger breaks on it, after Toyota realised the mistake.
From what I understand, all that is needed is the calipers, backing blade and discs for this to work, though some people report...
Nice to see another local 80 on here! keep and eye on your steering knuckle studs, they have a tendency to loosen up.
Hopefully get to see it in flesh after all this corona shambles
Hello everyone
Not posted much for a long time, last I posted was about my Defender 110, since then I have sold the vehicle after continuous failures, and I got fed up of rebuilding it Haha.
So, I bought a 1991 80 series Landcruiser GX, the truck has been in the family a number of years and I...

So after a mishap with a jack slipping after sorting the rear A frame ball joint I've had to replace the fuel tank
But looking at it it was probably required.
Next up is replacing the rear crossmember as the current one is rotten, Funnily enough this is the only part on the chassis that's...
Hi all,
I have recently changed vehicles from a Land rover Defender 90 (Currently up for sale unfortunately) to a Defender 110.
The new Landy (Rosie, name picked by the other half) is a Maltese import into the UK, has a 300TDI and is a county station wagon so originally could carry 12 people...
Well, my dad always ran 80 series cruisers and I was going to get one of them, but I also wanted something that is cheaper and easier to repair, and with easily bolted off panels etc (since jeeps are way over priced in the UK that wasn't an option) I went looking for a defender, all the ones in...
Hi folks,
Just wondered if anyone has plans for on the way to and from the show. Me and my mate are thinking of leaving on the 26th from Laurencekirk and possible stopping in the Dales or something for the night depending on how we feel after being inside the glorified tractor (Landy) for a few...
