They only have the 20 pound tanks. I also like the compact size of the 5 and 7 pound tanks. When we use my wifes Kia to go camping they are easy to bring along. The only time i use the 20 pound tank is when the fire bans are on and we take the propane fire pit with us. Camping is not the...
Here in British Columbia we are never that far from some source of water. I carry two 20 litre (5 gallon) water jugs with me. Once one is empty we will find a water supply and use our life straw filter to refill the empty jug. Up till recently i freeze 2 litre (2quart) water bottles to use...
I recently picked up the Whynter 45, so far so good. The only thing i find is that for shorter trips its bigger than we need. I also find you need to plan your menu and pack your fridge accordingly, just like you would with a regular cooler.
I started Keto in march and I have been looking at making a menu plan that is camping friendly. Im stuck with the diet as it has taken me from needing blood pressure pills to a normal blood pressure medication free.
So a couple of items we do on our menu is
- Lettuce wrapped Burgers. Mayo...
1/2 breaker bar, I carry a large c clamp for fixing stuck brake calipers (rescued more than one buddy on the trail this way). Complete set of 1/2 in drive metric regular and deep sockets. A set of 3/8 inch drive sockets. An good quality all in one screw driver, a set of torx bit sockets, a...
My 7 pound bottle lasted for 8 days my last trip out. That was making 2 meals a day, 10 cup purculater coffee and hot water for dishes and hygiene. I carry it in the back of the jeep right now but will be moving it to the overland trailer soon.
I am looking for recipes and ideas for Keto camping. I know the benefits and the cons to the diet. It works for me and that is what counts. I sleep better I have more energy and I have lost weight. What I want to do is transisition this to Overlanding with a decent menu plan and good food...
This is Buster. It took a couple of years to figure out his name. Before I started overlanding it. It came from the fact that initially I would make it or Bust it Trying. Got too expensive so switched to overlanding and exploring. This was taken last year passing through Jasper National Park.
I used a 6 x 8 Tarp and no i didn't cut it down. The ends are attached to the cross pieces with washers and sheet metal screws. The sides I will use bungee cords across to keep it tight and to give me some place to hang towels and lights up.
Built my own this year to cover the kitchen area of the jeep when traveling. I carry extra tarps to enclose the area in really inclement weather. The poles and tarp
all roll up in them self. I use Velcro straps now when its rolled up. They stand up better to the sun. I used 4 tent poles...
I find that the 5 pound tanks work great for my wife and I. We can usually get two or three weekends out of a tank. I always have one small green one as a back up but havent needed it yet. I got mine given to me for free because it was out of date. Got it revalved and filled for about half price.
I use an old fashion peculator for making coffee. Instants just dont have the right taste, and i didnt like the french press we had. Besides theres something about smelling the coffee perking in the morning that just seems to get the day off to a good start.
I live in Central British Columbia. My overland vehicle is a 2010 JKU, It has a 3 inch lift, 35 inch tires and a roof top tent. I explore with my wife and you can find us on the trails most weekends during the spring, summer and fall. I hibernate in the winter. This picture was taken at...
