It was really nice. With the traffic on the the road up I was expecting a party up there but everyone left around 5:00 and we had the place to ourselves.
I was wondering if you were on here. I was in the 4runner. When we got to the top there was almost no one up there except one other family. We stayed the night. Our original trip plan was to do Medano Pass up by Great Sand Dunes and then return over the Sangre de Cristo's over Hayden Pass, But...
Yea, it looks a little deeper in the pictures, but still A bit deeper than I like. It was above the sills by a good bit and they did hold tight. (amazingly) That red river dumps into the Rio Grande not too far from the town of Red River.
No, It's not usually that high. So this is the very first "obstacle" right off the road on the goose lake trail. We crossed it, and went up the trail and camped at the lake. When we came back down the next day it was already I would say maybe 6-8 inches lower. There must have heavy rain or...
We made a trip up to Red River and ran a few trails and did a little camping last weekend. That water crossing was a little deeper than expected :grimacing:. We camped up at Goose Lake, which was beautiful. A worthwhile excursion if you ever get the chance.
Sorry for the late response! I have a fairly cheap uniden radio with a fire ring cable going to a fire stick 2 foot antenna. I bought an inexpensive inline meter from amazon and am using that to test SWR. I think there is a grounding issue somewhere, but I haven’t had too much time to mess with...
I used to only buy the KO2s. They are awesome and have a LONG history of reliability. But the last set I bought was the Cooper Discoverer AT3s and I love em, nice and quiet on the road and plenty capable (for me at least) off road. I would like to try the Cooper ST Maxx next just ‘cause I like...
I too am in the “loud vehicles are annoying in the wilderness” camp. My truck has a stock exhaust because I want to hear the birds not the truck. But it’s all a time and place thing. I have an old Alfa that is pretty much straight piped. Fun for a run up a twisty road or to cars and coffee. For...
I second the Fins n’ Things trail for a good introduction to Moab 4wheeling. Fun trail, some good steep slick rock climbs, but less intimidating than some other trails.
Chets is definitely the best in town. That's who I use most. I did have Toyo Masters do an alignment after I put the OME stuff on my 4Runner and I think they did a great job.
