At the moment, the Facebook group is for members only, per Overland Bound admin requests. If that changes then I'll be excitedly able to change it back to open requests.
We've moved this event to run down Barlow Road because TSF OHV trails have been closed since the 3rd. We were hoping that they'd reopen but with the lack of rain and no change of weather in the pending future, it'll more than likely stay closed through the end of the month.
We did check with...
We will not be if the fire danger stays where it is and TSF is closed. They've already marked TSF as closed as of tomorrow due to the high heat and fire warnings. We'll be keeping a very close eye on this and may either move the event location or cancel it depending on the situation at that...
A trail run through the historic Barlow Road in the Mt. Hood National Forest for people who are new to overlanding/off-roading. We'll cover some basic field training like airing down, traction aids, and possibly a winch recovery training.

I'd say for a family of 3-4 a 4Runner 3rd gen or newer are great family rigs. My family is only 3 and my daughter is 4 now. We bought an '07 Sequoia because of the full size with third row seats. While we as a family don't use the third row, we often take trips with our friends (a family of 4)...
First modification I made was to add sliders (double wall steel). I run a vehicle that isn't widely supported, Toyota Sequoia, so most things have to be custom made. That said we're working with a fabricator in California to build a rear bumper to protect that massive rear end. Next up will be...
Welcome to the group! I hope we can get more folks involved in the group. I think OB Michael is looking into adding a community events section to the forums. Then we wouldn't need the group but it is handy.
Hey OBNW, it's come up a few times that we don't have a good way to share events on here at the moment so.... I started a OBNW Facebook group so we can get more folks involved with the OB movement!
Here is the group link:

Yeah the PDX Overlanders have a meetup account or something that allows for the posting of events. I don't think the OverlandBound site allows for community events to be posted.
Maybe we'all have to get a OBNW group together and post events in there. Thoughts?
We'll have to get something planned. We tried to get a beach run organized for 11/11 but schedules didn't work out for folks so we just cancelled it. We'll have to get something planned a bit further out in advance!
Yes that's right. The locals here call portland PDX for short. You'll have to send pictures when you get settled. I hear Christmas Valley is beautiful, especially during the winter.
Totally. This trip has been cancelled for the time being so you didn't miss out on anything. But we'll be rescheduling shortly. We'll post up an event on our FB page when we get the logistics sorted out.

Hey OB crew,
JayTwo100 and I are planning a meet and drive out to the coast on 11/11/2016.
Planning to meet up around 9am and head out to Gearhart, OR then up the coast on the beach to the Shipwreck, then continuing on to the mouth of the Columbia River, then head back into town.
I figured...
