I’ve driven it before. I’ll probably return with my wife later this fall when the air quality and views are better. It’s not a bad day trip from the TC
We did it as a there an back instead of driving it end to end. I wanted to explore more of the roads that dump out on HW410 but we had to cut it short. Next time!
Thanks for the input. We ended up working that weekend and ended up canceling the trip. In a strange twist of fate, my work trip was canceled for next weekend so hopefully I can at least drive it as a day trip. I’ll report back on conditions
Has anyone been on Kendall Skyline Road south of the guard-shack yet this year? I’m planning a trip out that way but I know there’s a section that’s impassible due to snow banks until later in the summer
We’re doing a staycation this weekend. For the same reasons already mentioned, I don’t care to deal with holiday weekend crowds and everything that comes with them. We are car camping the following weekend on the west side.
I’ll probably run out to Juniper Dunes for a few hours this...
Albeit imperfectly , I try not to attribute to malice what can easily be attributed to ignorance. It sounds like they were the latter, and consequently rude. As to what I would do with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight... I'd probably ask for them to kill the ATVs and walk it in to avoid...
It's been a bit but decades later, I'm still removing Yakima Firing Center dust out of my ears, eyes, and nose. I am indeed familiar with that gas station. Thanks for the heads up on the parade.
An update, my wife and I are still coming but will head back to the TC after the trail ride and unfortunately will miss the potluck. We're looking forward to meeting everyone and keeping our fingers crossed we'll see some big horn sheep
I'm building my Jeep out with BDRs in mind. I'm not necessarily looking to drive it up the side of a cliff but I want it beefed up and capable enough to deal with the occasional gatekeeper. I previously owned a Tundra Crewmax and for how comfortable it was, I often wished I had something...
Hello everyone. I joined a couple years ago but haven’t been active on the forums. I’m based out of Horn Rapids. I have a 91 YJ and my bride has a 2020 Taco. I try to get out to the Cascades and Blues whenever I can. If my schedule allows, I hope to hit Magruder Pass and one or two...
Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the invitation. My wife and I would like to join you for the potluck but will be heading back to the Tri Cities afterwards. Please let me know what food item we can bring
I'm a backpacker as well and it seems like the firearm question routinely comes up. I think some folks have a heightened fear of being attacked by bears/mountain lions that's been spurred on by Hollywood. There have been attacks and fatalities for sure, but the risk is exceptionally low...
I have two large-ish dogs, 75 and 90lbs. No room for them in an open top two door Jeep that's full of camping gear. Even without the camping gear, I wouldn't feel safe hauling them in that vehicle. My wife has a Tacoma so we may hit a few trails with them this coming summer.
Suzuki Sidekicks (which will be my next build) get about 20 mpg combined. Those numbers will drop with larger tires and added weight. Our fourth gen RAV4 was highly capable and would occasionally hit 30mpg on the highway. If the places you haunt don't have major gatekeepers (and even if they...
