The GX 460 or GX 470 is a great choice, they are my go to recommendations if you have a little extra to spend...Reliability is key, so they'll feel safe. Same with me...less intense off-road and more of overland now.
It is something that you can change on the road. Convert to coilovers if need be. Spares will not help.-..it is a big job.
I camped/backpacked all over California and cross-country three times. The most common issues were tires and Marmots chewing tires.
This is a modification of the rear tube bumper.
Modification:
- 6mm insert rivet with 6mm setscrew and massive PTFE tape.
- File expose overlap to follow the contour of the bottle
- Insert rivet was pulled with 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant
