I like to run my tires to half the tread depth as new. The siping is usually gone by then and you can actually sell them for a decent amount of money still. Sold some 35s that were 8 years old an half tread for more than half of what I paid for them.
Thanks. I'll have to check it out. I know it has a bad nav screen so I'll have to put in an aftermarket unit. It's got 130k miles, original owner, new radiator, water pump, and all service done at dealer with new tires for 5500
The pin stripping comment I hear a good amount.
I have been a hobby auto detailer for 10 plus years, if it didn't scratch down to primer, I get it out. Minimal scratches for 16 year old paint, still has a shine as well.
It's the rust I'm having trouble buffing out [emoji6]
Everyone wants to...
That's funny, I have ford parts and Lincoln parts on my jeep. Then 90 percent of the rest is aftermarket goodies. That leaves about 10 percent more to change!
Thanks
It took a good amount of planning but everything fits very good. Chuck box and cooler on the bottom with tent and sleeping bags ontop. Then spares and tools under the seats and in the pockets. The trasharoo gives me a little extra space also, it's actually where I carry my toilet.
So 2...
That's what they do hahaha
They have WiFi and TV. One day I will get them out. With my current platform it will have to be one at a time, I'm thinking of adding a 2500 suburban or something along those lines.
All of you describing your children camping is making me feel like a child. I also poke things with sticks then eat sleep and poop. Also a big fan of cutting things, use the axe though, no saw.
My 2 stepsons have not showed much interest going. They are 9 and 10 and they go "camping" with their...
I just saw this!
Hello I'm Jake from MA. I pack my tj full of camping gear and get out when I can.
That's what my camping setup looks like.
That's a shot of my "kitchen"
This was one of the best camping spots I've been to. Was with a small group of like minded travelers.
I'm using a 5 year old diehard platinum. It currently shows no signs of weakness and I hope it lasts me a few more years. Now that they are discontinued I am not sure what I will purchase.
Deka agm and lifeline are on my shortlist.
This sounds stupid but I've been using it for years and the guy I got the idea from used it for 30 years on his classic ford's. Linseed oil. Paint on, spray on, wipe on with rag, anything. 2 times a year, I do it before winter and after winter. My frame on my 2000 tj still looks great.
That low range would be my only requirement, just to try it out in some trails. It always looks funny when you are in a group of lifted rigs and you have a stock small vehicle doing the same trails hahaha
I keep looking at patriots as a daily driver, I changed my cars around and now this is my daily for now. (Jeep)
As you can see, the Patriot would probably be a little more suited to my massive 3 mile commute.
Does your's have the "low range"?
Alu-box are the only ones I have actually seen. If aluminum wasn't a requirement then pelican cases are good but for the price difference, I would do the aluminum.
I will second the fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Make sure you have burn cream and some pain reliever in the kit. I would suggest NOT buying one of the little car extinguishers generally found at Walmart and autoparts stores. Get a 5lb or so, used and recharged on ebay is cheap insurance...
