Hi,
I thought I would drive up to Knoxville near Napa, CA this Sunday (4/25) just to check it out and see if it -- and Hunting Creek Camp specifically -- are suitable for a weekending camping get-away with my family. It's short trip from Berkeley so I thought it could be a good chance to...
Hello everyone,
I'm selling my beloved 1996 Isuzu Trooper. It's got just over 160,000 miles. The truck is in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've had it for 3.5 years and have done maintenance, including replacing the timing belt w/ water pump. I have a complete listing on Craigslist, with...
I bought the truck at auction so I did a bunch of preventative maintenance— timing belt, water pump, battery, brakes kind of work. I’m leaking a little oil and so I’m going to steam clean the engine to figure out the what and where and what’s next. But I’d consider all that normal on a vehicle...
Nice!
I’ve got a’96 manual and love it. Haven’t made any changes (yet) other than needed mechanical fixes.
Looking forward to following and getting ideas.
Great thread! I have a 1996 manual I bought from auction. It didn’t take much to get it mechanically sound and it’s been super dependable to date. I haven’t done anything to yet because I haven’t run into thing it can’t handle (it helps that I’m super cautious). Excited to follow this thread.

I’m looking for something...
Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems the opinions are pretty split -- I should upgrade the tires vs. use them for a bit and see what works and what doesn't. The second option is, of course, the least expensive (for now anyway).
I might look around and see if I can get a deal on trading...
Hello all,
I’m a long time car camper. With the recent acquisition of a 1996 Isuzu Trooper, I’ve decided to up my game to overlanding.
The Trooper is very stock. When I first got it, I did an array of repairs and preventive maintenance. That included getting tires, which I bought on the way...
Hello everyone,
I've just joined up. Longtime car camper and angler. And so most of my adventuring has been around those two things. Now, though, I'm interested in getting to remote and harder to get to places -- mostly to feed the desire to fish and to be in nature.
I have a new-to-me 1996...
