Picked up the Warn Tabor 10k, winch hook, wireless remote, synthetic winch line and a pair of Hella xenon lights. The fabricator is going to start work on the mount on Saturday then test fit before it gets welded up and sent to powdercoating.
Had some more desert fun last week, next week going to get a winch mount fabricated to sit behind the stock bumper and a tube bar to mount a pair of Hella xenon lights I picked up a few days ago.
The LC completed 5 years and 200,000+Kms and I felt it was time for a change. I can't fault the cruiser it was super reliable and the only issues I had were it would constantly rip the cv boots and the cats got completely blocked when we had fuel quality issues with the fuel provider.
I really...
One of the areas where the track was washed out a bit, other areas were worse than this, ruts and loose rocks make for an interesting climb on a steep hill.
1.5 hours were spent crossing large distance where the tracks were maintained, the others lead away from the odd farms in the mountains...
Lots of plants popped up after the recent rain and some areas had some small pools of water, the weather and landscape was simply beautiful a nice change from the desert.
Before summer and 50'c heat hits us I decided to take a little trip through the wadi's (dry river beds) and mountains.
The short trip stretched out to 3+ hours as some of the tracks were badly damaged from heavy rain the past month.
For a long time the Desert Nomad became a City Nomad, finally have had some time to go out exploring and enjoying nature. The Land Cruiser is parked up now going to get it back to stock and sell it.
Got a 2016 Patrol Safari, sure is fun having a manual again.
My 2012 Land Cruiser 200 has served me for 5 years and over 200,000 kms.
The replacement is a 2016 Nissan Patrol Y61 Safari
Just need to pull of the OB badge and stick it to the patrol
For shame! You didn't stick an OB badge when no one was looking? :tongueclosed:
I had 2011 90 these have a special place in my heart even though the one I had broke down every month since new and traded it in for a 2012 110 that I somehow managed to bring the roof level with the dashboard.
Praying you get through this sooner rather than later.
Whenever i stress out i drive out to the desert just far enough that I can't hear the road, switch off the engine sit out and clear my mind.
Hope everything turns out for the better
Thanks @jordanbrooks & @stringtwelve, that's one awesome 45 in your dp, my 200 is a gcc/middle east spec with the 4.6L 1UR and minimum electronics. Over on the mud forum so far the US spec high milers have only suffered from starter failures and water pumps but other than that no major problems...
Thanks, other than replacing the old man eme shocks to konis, only thing planned so far is either replacing the gear box oil cooler or adding an aux fan to the stock cooler to help cool things down during the summer and installing an air tank and on board air compressor to cut down time when...
I've used the automatic deflators as well but not sure which brand they were, being in the desert sand kept getting trapped in them making them need frequent cleaning as well as the settings would always go off when they got banged around on board. Now i just remove the valve core and it takes...
I don't think there'll be much in this thread as my cruiser is built enough for my needs, might get a few extra tweaks as modding never ends.
Currently the cruiser is 3.5 years old and has 160,000kms+ on the odo, powered by the 4.6L V8, de-catted as the cats got blocked from some bad fuel and...
