It seems more and more that we use GMRS over CB in the last few years in Colorado. The Midland units all work well including the handhelds for easy hiking when you stop for a break.
It’s actually west of Colorado Springs, not east. The drive is easy in the summer months but can be snow covered, rutted and challenging in a fun way in the winter.
Nice setup. I’m doing my 4Runner the same way. I tried a cheaper mount off eBay for $15 to see if I liked using my iPad and found it really helpful. Can’t wait to get the Ram amount setup now.
