Camp here in Texas. Big Bend National Park. We typically only camp in Winter here. :)

I went last year for a couple of hours to check out the vendors and watch Joey Pitts' Recovery demonstration. It was a good class. Don't forget to drive up to Llano for some Coopers BBQ!

My youngest daughter uses a Tent-Cot XL and seems to love it. I also have 2 of the Cabelas cots and they are real sturdy but a little stiff. I prefer my hammock though. I'm old and fat so I need the comfort. :)

Hello John, I also have a FT-857d. How do you like Alpha Moto? I've been using mine as a base connected to a G5RV but want to move it to my Suburban. The ATAS is a little pricey and doesn't get very good reviews.
