Mamma mia!! Now thats some nice looking gold. Hopefully you can the coordinates or even an idea where he got those here in Australia then come on over for some detecting! Thanks for sharing the photos with us. Makes me want to go swing my MD right now!
Awesome mate!... Might have to hit you up on the spot behind Butterfly Gorge. I want to try and get one or two more weekend camp trips in before the wet sets in. I suspect we might have an early one too given the amount of clouds that are already starting to build up and the lack of decent cool...
Yeah no worries mate! Completely understand. I'm trying to find secluded spots my myself to get away from all the tourists that are slowly destroying some of our prime areas (Litchfield is a classic example). If you ever want someone else to tag along though please let me know and if I can get...
If you have a camp oven (which normally comes with a canvas bag and if not I highly recommend you get one) and its small enough just place the skillet into the camp oven. That's what I do. Keep all the cast iron pans and pots together in the same canvas bag! :)
No it doesn't smell at all when you burn and its better for the environment rather than just burying it or throwing it at the tip. Items I take with me are certain plastics and metal cans which I take back to a recycling centre. When burning I don't do it all at once either. We just throw stuff...
If you are able to have a fire pit going at your camp site you could burn most of your rubbish to minimise what you end up having to carry with you. We do this often in places where you are allowed to have a fire pit and you would be surprised at what material you can burn to ash resulting in...

Thanks Jeff! I don't suppose your uncle wants to tell me where he found those nuggets!? lol.... Seems to be fair amount around on the surface but you just have to find it. Those that do here where I am from do fairly well. :)
VK8FNCY in Darwin, Australia. You can sometimes catch me on 40m (7.164mhz) or 15m (21.290mhz). Best way to see if I'm online is via my website where it will indicate if I'm on or not - http://users.on.net/~falcidi/ham/
Great setup Marco. I just watched the video of your vehicle done by TrailRecon and I like some of the things you have done to the Jeep especially the lights in the wheel arches and under the vehicle. Safe travels my friend!
Recently received the new Minelab Gold Monster 1000 and have to say I like it a lot. Haven't found gold with it yet but it certainly picks up lots of metal as well as hot rocks!... Hoping to get out with it again this weekend to try my luck. Its probably in the same realms as other VLF detectors...
Hey Jake. No worries mate and you too safe travels on your huge adventure! Very envious and yes have been following you on Youtube for some time now. :)
I have a 40lt ARB permanently in the Jeep and has been good to me. I also have a 95lt Waeco which I now use as a 2nd fridge in the house and also have a 60lt Evakool in my Patriot camper. The Waeco used to travel in my box trailer when out camping before we got the Patriot. One of the cool...
