    180 Degree freestanding awning

I'm trying to be honest. It's not a dubious claim to call it freestanding as all the above mentioned awnings are freestanding. We will revisit the website and make some changes as we don't want to deceive customers. We will remove 'fully' from the description. They are very sturdy and we have...

    180 Degree freestanding awning

Yes, I am part of Overland Pros, no secret. I am also friends with Michael and we sell product through Overland Bound. I am not trying to misrepresent or make outlandish marketing claims. All those awnings are considered 'freestanding'. Ours is no different. In strong winds all of them should...

    180 Degree freestanding awning

It is freestanding. It doesn't need poles to be deployed and is very sturdy. Very similar to OVS but has velcro for walls which is makes them much easier to out up and down. The legs are for very windy conditions or if you have walls attached the awning to help with support. Your choice...the...

    180 Degree freestanding awning

Haven't tested directly in wind but it's the same hinges on the Wraptor 6k which withstands a decent amount of wind. It also comes with poles to guy it down if wind is an issue. Most of the time it will be fine on its own. Sets up really fast!

    Who’s used one? (Waterport)

I have the 4 gallon original with pump cap. Works decently but leaks. I won't keep it in the truck. The hitch mount works well but can decrease departure angle if serious wheeling.

    Clothing what do you pack?

I've scaled down my clothes on trips dramatically the past few years. Now for a whole week I'll prob only take 2 pairs of pants, 2 shorts, swimsuits, couple of Ts, 2 long sleeves. I find I wear one set of clothes multiple day and just change Ts, undies and socks. In the desert I wear bedrock...

    Campground Insanity

It's amazing how inconsiderate people are when camping in a campground a few feet from others. Loud music, cussing, staying up really late when there are people right next door. Campgrounds need to enforce the 'rules' more so everyone can enjoy the space. Again, the main reason to build a...

    Trasharoo alternative

I have gone through at least 4 Trasharoos over the years. They just dont stay up and get shredded all the time. I now have a GARB, made in Canada. Definiely more expensive, but much better design and more robust. You can leave the mounting straps on the tire and then just attach the bag when you...

Pint Size Hero: Garmin inReach Mini

Update- bought the Inreach Mini before my ascent of Mt Shasta in June. Works great and love the size. 1/4 of the size of my original InReach. Nice to have a rechargeable battery and it lasts a number of days and easily recharged with mini-USB though I wish it was USB-C. Screen is surprisingly...

    February Overland Gear Round Up

I agree that budget gear is what most people buy, but then I have broken and gone through so many 'budget' chairs and tables over the years it added up to more than good quality products. Budget chairs also tend to be so uncomfortable I just gave them away.
