The ominous vehicle accident has happened. Your vehicle catches fire and burns down, there’s nothing left. The insurance is giving you replacement value. Would you get the same vehicle and equipment, or would you change everything?
Knowing what you know now, how would you rebuild?
Hey y’all, just wanted to mention for those stop looting for a turbo toilet, a small quantity popped up on Amazon! I finally got myself one. Here’s the link: Black Pine Sports Turbo Toilet
I’ve got five days of this week and a stock suspension FX4 Ranger. I want to go places amongst the trees in the eastern Sierras where I won’t see other people. I’m starting out of Carson City, NV. What spots would you recommend?
It’s not difficult with stock 4x4’s. I put over 5k miles off road with my baby Cherokee KL with 4x4. And on the stock all terrain tires until a year ago. Not a lot of rock-crawling type trails, but it only got stuck twice in 5 years, and they were both ditch-related user error situations. I...
I have several ground tents and two hammocks. In my youth, it was easy to throw a one man body style tent into a backpack and take off on a motorcycle. These days, I’m carrying some extra weight of my own, and have banned my body up enough to just keep with with car camping.
The main two tents...
I just picked up my Ranger on Tuesday, and I’m looking to do the same sort of exterior mods... Where did you end up getting your front grille lights and the rear red lights?
There’s way too many variables that would go into that kind of study, but go watch Will Prowse on YouTube- he breaks it down pretty well.
Lithium doesn’t handle high heat or freezing temperatures very well, in fact they should shut down in freezing temps... but they’re still more efficient than...
I’m using mine the same way. On the odd weekends when I’m not out somewhere, it’s in my garage supplementing power to my fridge, fan and the lights. It’s all charged off my existing solar. No point in a $500 paperweight. In the meantime, gives me extra weight allowances for anything else I want...
I have the new Jackery 500, and it’s worth every penny. I don’t go crazy with it, but running my CPAP and charging my phone, I got 5 days out of it and was still about 15%. With my fridge and CPAP, I still got 40 hours out of it. It weighs like 14 pounds, so easy to carry around compared to my...
Sounds like you might have a problem with the inverter. They are supposed to be regulated to provide a constant draw. I have the new 500, and it’s been flawless. Might want to contact Jackery for tech support and a possible warranty replacement.
Depending on what size your fridge is and the AH size of your battery, you could do a lot with a little. I have a cFX50 fridge, and it only averages a .75AH draw. On my little yeti 400 AGM system, I get about 21 hours of use down to 50%. I can keep the goal zero powered with 100 watts of solar...
I’ve got both the Harbor Freight 100w setup, their 13w suitcase setup, and a Renogy 100w panel fed into a Goal Zero 400w/hr Yeti.
For about $150, you can get a thin suitcase style that’ll do a full 100w. This one had some decent reviews on YT, but Renogy and HQST released their thin suitcases...
