They are haha. That's why I'm trying to keep things fun and interesting for all but not too difficult as to exclude people who are just starting or don't have rigs that are super capable.
To Everybody:
Speaking of which, I'm thinking I may have to move the date back about a month. The original...
Just wanted to toss in my two cents, I've got a regular CB for my car but I keep a Midland 75-822 with a mag mount antenna for anyone that rolls with me, it works incredibly well for such a small setup! The cobra is just as good!
Yes it's a trail run, nothing extreme though haha. I'm still planning things out, the initial trail was more like a road, so I'm trying to find something a bit more interesting that isn't too difficult, plus maybe a scenic area or two.
We would love to have you if you can make it! Otherwise, I'm sure plenty of people will be posting pictures and stories so you can at least live vicariously through others :D
There will be one created soon! I took a drive out there this weekend to explore the area abs found that the drive wasn't that exciting and there wasn't really any point to it other than driving.
I've done some research on landmarks and ruins in the area, so I'm gonna go back out this weekend...
Thank you :D I like to be different haha! If you like the idea, @LiftedBRZ and @Lifted_FRS on Instagram both did it before me! Dirt Fish rally also has a fleet of them!
There's a monthly meet that someone is trying to plan, but last I checked there was no set date yet? And I'm planning a beginner's trail crawl of sorts, on October 1st! If you have anything with ground clearance, you'll be able to do this (so you don't have to have an overland rig)
Not late at all, I'm still planning things! Plenty of time between now and October :]
Thank you SO much for those websites! Invaluable resources, got a lot of good info and ideas from them. On top of that, I final figured out an old place that I went to one time as a kid and never knew where...
Welcome from a fellow AZer! I'm planning a small event coming up Oct. 1st, you're welcome to join if you're interested! https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/arizona-lake-pleasant-trail-planning.9126/
I'm not opposed to some assistance! I'm looking into extending the route right now. I've got other groups interested, as well, but I've got that handled. Mostly, it's that I want to avoid areas that aren't beginner/intermediate friendly in regards to terrain navigation. Lockers, winch, etc...
No outings planned for Nov, but if this goes well I might look into setting up a Jan one!
Some more news! MountainRoo's Arizona chapter is interested in doing a combination event. I'm also going to try to get Flat4PHX in on this too. If this blows up in popularity like it seems to be, I'm going...
Hey Mike, welcome from another AZ member! If you wanna dive in, I've started planning a beginner's trail crawl coming up in October! More info here: https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/arizona-lake-pleasant-trail-planning.9126/
Glad to have you! My understanding is that this would be 'noob' difficulty, but it should still be a good experience! Plus you get to meet up with other OB members!
Spread the word any way you can!
Oh sweet, nice! Yeah, there's a lot of potential in this car and I plan on using every bit of it. Just gonna take a while for some of the bigger stuff haha
Okay so I've got some Instagram interest: @STI_Avery, @Overland_Foz, and @GetShifty_Vette are all interested but I don't think they have a forum presence.
