On my 18 day trip, I stopped off in Yosemite for the day to show this beautiful place to my kids who've never experienced Yosemite. We found this gem on the upper most island of the Happy Isle on the Merced River.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Thanks for the advice. I haven't had any issues yet, but I also don't do any serious crawling with this rig. Still, it's a good thing to be aware of while picking lines, so thanks.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I finally got my OBA permanently installed. Finished Product First A shot from the underside before I finished the wiring. A shot of the test bed to check the plumbing and electrical before the install.

Is the term "overland" being misused/abused?

We call them "Mall Crawlers" where I'm from. That being said, there are some (myself included) who do a bunch of prep work into their vehicles, but due to the busy pace of life, don't get to get on the dirt as much as they would like. When I'm driving around with my light bar, roof basket and...

    Camp Shower (Merged)

There are a few bonuses about the hard mounted systems that definitely trump the smaller portable ones in my opinion. The first is that mine holds just under 5 gallons of water. That's 5 extra gallons of emergancy potable water that I have with me on my outings. Then there's the zero setup...

I highly recommend regular flushable wet wipes. You can get them almost anywhere that sells TP. I've been using these for years on backpacking trips. Works for original intended purposes as well as a quick water-less bath. And, at least as far as I know, the flushable wipes are biodegradable.

Maybe it's the years of adventure guiding in me, or just a personality trait, but I can't go anywhere without a plan. If the plan changes, I'm down for the adventure, but I always have a rough idea on where I am and where I'm going. I agree that we go a little overboard in this day and age...

    Water Purification whats your method

I bought one of these: back in 1999 when I started to do solo back packing trips. I've been using it ever since, and it still works great. Filters bacteria, cysts, and viruses. I've stuck this in some straight pond scum an poured out crystal clear pure clean water. This is the same model...

What have you built for you rig.

Those sliders look great! It looks like they will be low-profile, am I right? This is what I've been looking for, but it seems that no one makes low-profile sliders anymore. I had a pair on my '85 Toyota that you couldn't even tell were there and I loved them. I don't really want side steps...
