Doing a wee bit more research, wiki says it’s a rare meteorological phenomenon. I know it’s the first time I’ve ever seen one of those things.
It’s the first time I’ve ever seen one and as best as I could tell, it was just snow, nothing in particular in the middle.
Apparently they’re called snow rollers and form by a chunk of snow rolling down a hill or being blown along the ground by the wind.
