The OFFICIAL Trans NJ Trail Thread

There seems to be some confused folks here. Are you looking to start in High Point? Hightstown is pretty far from there (near Trenton) and I'm not sure if the trail goes through there.

The OFFICIAL Trans NJ Trail Thread

If anyone is planning on doing a north to south trip in the coming months please let me know. I'd love to do at least a portion of this and while my rig should be plenty capable of it (2022 Tacoma SR5 4x4 w/2" lift and AT tires) it's always best to not travel alone.

Awesome! I'm still hoping to do a TNJT trip but I was up in the Adirondacks of NY since t Tuesday with my son's Boy Scout troop doing a canoe trek in the Saranac region. Lots of lakes and seasonal roads lined with first come first serve camp sites there. It was in the mid 40's way back in...

    Just Moved to Hudson Valley

I had that Wrangler back in the late 90's and it's been long, long gone. I bought a new Tacoma double cab long bed in September. No big plans for it, probably a 2 inch lift some aftermarket wheels and bigger, more aggressive tires. Maybe a "bed tent" if I find I actually start doing some...

    Just Moved to Hudson Valley

I don't think there's any legal trails anywhere around here. We used to go up in the woods along the NY/NJ Border here but it was absolutely not legal and they were small, rocky trails. I didn't mind taking my $6000 Wrangler on 35's back there and giving it some pinstripes but there's no way I'm...

First snowstorm - Got to test the Falken AT3W in snow......

Had them on my last truck (2015 Ram 1500) for almost 30,000 miles. I used the truck for long road trips in the summer and getting to my cousin's camp upstate for snowmobiling in the winter which often involved snow covered roads and they were great. Probably going to get them for my Tacoma when...

John Orange County, NY 2022 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed SR5 Not a whole lot of overlanding experience but I've done plenty of camping and ttsilnriding on quads over the years. I kind of stumbled across this site when someone posted about the TNJT on a Tacoma message board. Looking forward to...

Our forest sites went to Reserve America and so far it is fantastic...minus the fee for what used to be free.

NY has been using the Reserve America site for years, I'm pretty happy with it.

The OFFICIAL Trans NJ Trail Thread

Stumbled across this via Google after hearing about this trail on the Tacoma forum. Hard to believe I lived right off of it in the Flemington area for 20 years and never had a clue. Now I'm living in NY near the northern end of it and hope to do the northern 1/3 this spring as a day trip with my...
