I’m driving from KY to be at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival the weekend of June 22. I’d love to meet up with somebody the following week to hit some trails. Never been to CO. Since Telluride is so close to Ouray, I planned on hitting that.

I'm putting it on my calendar. Will be in Red River Gorge the weekend before, so will have to head up after work Friday or Saturday morning.

Still for sale? I'm interested. Price is right, though not sure how much I would use. Kind of curious about your experience pulling a trailer.

Yea, when I did the lift I added a flash pack to adjust the engine tuning, shifting and speedo. It needs adjusting, though. It still doesn't override the electronic stability control. When I accelerate into a turn it applies the front breaks. Still figuring out a solve. For mileage, though, my...
Is that a fellow Norwegian I hear?
So I had been getting 16-17 hwy mpg in my stock Commando. After mods I'm getting 11 mpg. I got a Commander specifically for the 5.7l V8 so I can pull a camper trailer. Once I do that my range is going to be about 120 miles. Ridiculous.

Bad news. Once they got under there they decided there was not a feasible, safe way to secure the tanks that would still allow me to take them on and off. So I'm back to the drawing board. There is plenty of space under there, but I probably need to spring for a full-fledged auxiliary fuel tank...
I'm new to overlanding, so not one to plan any trips. But if you are looking for a travel buddy in the Southeast region hit me up. I've got a week off June 25 and planning to see how much of the Kentucky Adventure Trail I can cover...

Not sure I know what I'm doing, but I'll try uploading this .gpx file of the Kentucky Adventure Trail. You can find it posted on Wikiloc. I think this link will take you to it. https://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/spatialArtifacts.do?event=setCurrentSpatialArtifact&id=16826466
I'm hoping to ride this...
I think WAM is going to be in business for awhile. I just ordered my bumper from them and they have a 6-week lead time.
The interior room on the XK IS lame. you have to take out the 3rd row seat, and there are NO cargo drawers that fit the XK. I'm having one fabbed for me. BUT, it has plenty of...
I think we should give the Aztec an A for effort. I was intrigued when they first came out, but couldn't get past the look. Went with a Subaru who's AWD was leading the market. It wasn't an overlander, but it got me to a lot of remote camp sites.
I would love to see a car maker take a fresh...
This is the first vehicle I ever owned. 1974 CJ5 bought in 1983 for $2200.
This is my current rig. Also 10 years old when I bought it, but the tires alone cost $2200
