Need some real world suggestions on lighting options.

Looking to add some forward facing lighting on my #adventurevan. Any suggestions on what lights to run on the bumper? I'd like to achieve 2 things... good long distance lighting AND good side lighting. Old skool me thinks about running 2 Hella 500 driving lights and 2 Hella 500 fog lights up...

Falken A/T3W vs BFG A/T KO2 for roughly the same price...thoughts and/or experience?

Getting new shoes on the van (2017 Chevy Express 2500 RWD)... it's down to Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's or BFG A/T KO2's. I ran that Falken's on my old Trooper and loved them. Costco has a promotion going on now that's $110 off the BFG's, which makes the total price (including tax and installation)...

Manistee National Forest 24 hour getaway

The wife and I have been working on getting our 2017 Chevy Express 2500 van converted into a camping setup. The past 2 weekends I decided to take one of our dogs, Ca$h, and l would up the van to give it some early test runs. We still have a few things to finish, buy a memory foam mattress...

    2017 Chevy Express 2500 - The Yeti

So guess it’s my turn for a 2wd build! We brought home this 2017 Chevy Express RWD passenger van a week or so ago, and already started the conversion to a weekend warrior / 2-tracker / fire road adventure camping van. Plans include new Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires (AWESOME in the snow), a...

Time to start shopping for a rig...could use your help!

Found out I’m FINALLY getting my VA disability back pay (to the tune of about 5000-6000 bucks – finally!!!) in the next month or so…supposedly. Desperately wanting to get an off-road “overlanding” capable rig again – but not wanting to pull the trigger on the first thing that tickles my fancy...

A True North Adventure on 3 Wheels - AK, BC, YT and NWT on a Ural

I managed to find most of my digital pictures, so thought I'd relive some of my "glory days" during my 14 years living in Alaska (Kodiak, Anchorage and Juneau). Grab a cold one, sit back, and enjoy as I attempt to remember my 2008 trip - 2000 miles on a 2006 Ural GearUp Sidecar Motorcycle!

$6500 cash and a one-way plane ticket...what do you buy?

So let's just say you've got $6500 cash in your pocket, and enough miles for a free one-way ticket to anywhere in the US of A. You live in Michigan (think RUST) and don't want a vehicle from this area. You've got 2 kids, a wife and a dog and you want a reliable, daily driver rig that'll take...

Rust - how to stop it from spreading

Really digging my Trooper. Pretty solid for a rust belt rig. Only have 2 trouble spots, both in tough to repair places. Any suggestions how to handle these spots to stop things from getting worse? Repairing it is most likely out of my league and too expensive so I just wanna delay the...

75W-90 vs 80W-90 gear oil difference?

So I'm changing the fluids on my '02 Trooper and the manual says to use 80W-90 GL-5 LSD in the rear, and 75W-90 up front. However, I can get it cheaper if I run the same front and rear, and am wondering if it's safe to do so? I'm a big Lucas Oil fan and they offer a dino 80W-90 and a...

Buying a rig from OTHER than the rust-belt...where would you go?

In the next 12-18 months I'll be in the market for a newer model rig, and am already looking at a 4Runner or Tacoma as my platform to begin with. I don't wanna buy new, and if you've ever been here to Michigan, even vehicles just a few years old already show signs of cancer. I'll have enough...

    Any way to print topics/threads?

I'm sort of an old-school guy when it comes to documentation. I much prefer paper in my hands vs reading on a screen. With that in mind, is there any way to print off an entire post thread all at one shot? Anyone know? Thanks!

2002 Trooper all terrain tire question

My '02 Trooper desperately needs new tires (I bought it knowing that). Paid $1800 for the rig w/154,500 miles on it. Runs well, but has a ton of rust (this is Michigan, afterall...). I'm not sure I'll install a lift on it, but IF I do it'll be 1-2" max. Don't need more for what I'm gonna do...

Project Yukon Cornelius - my 2002 Isuzu Trooper

After a lot of looking for a second vehicle to replace our now gone minivan (which I sold for $1800), I managed to get lucky and found a 2002 Trooper w/154k on the clock. LOTS of work done to it by a certified mechanic (including the timing belt!)...anyhow, I brought it home for $1800. Of...

The hunt continues...Isuzu Trooper owners, need your help!

Got my eye on a 2002 Trooper w/154,xxx miles on it. Owner had a bunch of work done to it recently - most importantly the timing belt, water pump, tensioner and pulley being replaced. https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/d/2002-isuzu-trooper-tod/6407155602.html I'm wondering if there are any...

Taco owners - need your opinions, please!

Greetings all. I don't have a Taco - yet - but am thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these 2...wondering if you all could give me some suggestions on what I specifically need to look for, Tacoma-wise, and which one you would choose? The first one is a 2010 Tacoma AccessCab...
