Just wrapped up an epic road trip across 10 states with our Offroad HRG-lifted 2024 Honda Passport—racking up over 1,000 miles! This rig has been the perfect fit for hauling our adventurous family of five on long-distance journeys. Comfortable, capable, and ready for more!
For what it is our Passport impressed everyone at Overland South this year! This was a wild ride that really shows off its offroad chops.
It will never be a rock crawler, but it is an amazing family adventure hauler! We are supper pleased with the build!
Our Offroad Honda Passport Trailsport Build Scored an RTI of 451 at the Overland South flex contest. It's not even close to to the max score of 1000, but everyone still seemed impressed with the independent suspension.
For this test I had the front sway bar disconnected. Build details: HRG...
We put our 4.5” Lifted 2024 Honda Passport to the test over the past year. This compilation features some of our highlights from Overland South and AWD Fest. The Passport continues to exceed expectations on the trails! It has just enough clearance with the lift and 33" tires.
MPG Update Post-Lift
This weekend, I averaged 21.5 MPG over 300 miles of interstate driving at 60–70 MPH with careful driving. I might be able to improve that since I only enabled Eco mode halfway through the trip.
Please note, city driving or higher speeds can significantly impact fuel...
AWD Fest 2024 at Uwharrie National Forest provided a great off-road test for our 2024 Passport Trailsport Overland build.
I was impressed with the gearing and power compared to our 3.5"-lifted 2007 Honda Pilot, now at 315k miles. Outfitted with 265/70R18 Goodyear Duratrac RT tires and the HRG...
I drive a lifted 2024 Honda Passport Trailsport and a 2007 Honda Pilot, both built for off-road adventures. This weekend at Overland South in Charleston, SC, I was surprised to come across a Tesla Cybertruck on the trails. Its capabilities were pretty impressive considering the wheelbase, and I...
Last weekend was big! I worked up the courage to install our new 265-70-18 Goodyear Duratrac RT tires. I selected these tires because they were three peak rated, had over 16/32 tread, weren't e-rated, and have an aggressive side wall/tread. Tire options were limited for 18" wheels. but I am...
The HRG 4.5" Beast Kit is installed and now our stock tires look tiny! I am pleased to report we drove over 600 trouble free miles this weekend delivering aid to our family in the path of Hurricane Helene! We will continue testing and report our findings, but so far I am loving the lift! Now to...
This is my second Honda-based off-road build featured on the Overland Bound forum. The first was our 2007 Honda Pilot (link here), which has garnered over 111k views to date.
After our Pilot recently surpassed 300K miles, we began searching for another family hauler to complement our fleet...
This was all my fault, but at least this time I was able to self recover.
My custom winch mount held and the Warn Axon 55s did the work in using a double line pull.
This post features several 4x4 and AWD vehicles making passes on a purpose built offroad obstacle course. The more it rains the slicker the course gets! Check it out to see how the Unimog does! Let me know if you were surprised?
This was the first year of the Annual Overland Conclave event in Charleston SC. This year was a bit rainy and chilly for us southerners, but it made for some great fun in the mud!
It was really cool wheeling with an Unimog! Those things are incredible!
This video took place during the first annual Overland Conclave event in Charleston SC. The muddy obstacle course was a ton of fun!
Comment on the video which vehicle you think did better!
