Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Always in the rig (in no particular order):
E-Tool
Rolled up extra floor mat (used on the ground in case I need to do anything under the rig)
First Aid Kit
Socket Set
Wrench Set
Headlamp & Mag Light
Assorted shop towels
Too many bungees
Emergency water pouches
Emergency food bricks
Fire starter...
Fingers crossed next time we get something other than just a bunch of Toyotas...(insert winking smiley face emoticon here so everyone knows I'm joking, but also I don't believe in using emoticons so here's this string of text instead)
Perhaps our next meet-up can be beer-friendly (safely, of course). I'm not saying beer helps me talk to strangers, but... no, wait, that is what I'm saying!
I've got a Silky Gomboy folding saw, but I haven't actually had an opportunity to test it yet. It's only got a 9.5" blade, so it would be tough with big stuff. Still, it's compact enough that I can keep it in the rig at all times, safely out of sight.

Here's hoping the folks collecting the raw materials are getting a big chunk of that $200. Sheesh.
I think it requires a separate thread, and maybe only applies to folks who daily drive their "overland" rigs, but I'm curious what everyone's "every day carry" looks like (not referring to guns here). Obviously, the gear you haul for a long overland trip is much different than what you keep in...
Nice! We'll definitely be passing thru Spokane, and our traveling partners have a stop planned there to see family anyway... Maybe we can hook up then. I'll keep you posted as I firm up the dates.
Hey All- I make an annual trip to Sheridan, Wyoming (from PDX) to visit family, and this year I'm hoping to incorporate a bit of camping/exploring along the way. I'd love any rec's for easy trails and good campsites within an hour or so of Interstate 90, on the stretch between Coeur d'Alene and...
True, scale certainly matters, and there is absolutely value in well made, responsibly produced "boutique" gear; I certainly don't begrudge the craftspeople their due. Hell, I haven't set foot in a WalMart in over a decade, and I love the expensive gadgets and gear in spite of myself... My point...
I could be wrong, but it might be hard to find a decent option under $100.00. I spent $130 or so on the Viair 300P, which is rated up to 33" tires... Cheaper options would probably be hard pressed to fill a 35" tire.
