Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I wrap my piece of 10 in tile in a dish towel, then use the towel as an oven mit and/or table trivet for the tile and food on it when it comes out of the oven.
Any piece of ceramic flooring tile will work. Smoother is better for ease of cleaning. If you want, you can also use small 8-10 inch round pizza stones from Amazon. Cost a little more than a ceramic or terra-cotta tile but anywill work
Thanks guys, so far it sounds like most folks here trend like the you tubers, some do but most don’t. I’m not giving up on it yet for sure, but length of stay also seems to factor in on whether or not to set it up.
ya, I apparently lucked into it when I got it. The 2001 was the last year of the Duramax/C6 tranny combo that did NOT have all the emissions stuff installed. The 2002 mpg went way down, so I’m told.
My old ‘01 duramax diesel 4x4 Silverado hasn’t let me down yet. Even pulling a truckbed trailer from a ‘79 F250 set up as my adventure trailer. Granted, it’s only been a solid month since setting it up. It’s already played in Idaho and Montana. I feel good about the rig going anywhere I’d...
I have the Champion 2500 dual fuel. @$500. Quiet as any gent 2-3 times that price can be scaled up by connecting two of them to back up a house. I love mine and will get a second one when opportunity strikes.
Had not thought about a name, it isn’t finished, nor has it earned a name yet, although the wife started calling it “tree-fort” as the new rtt makes her feel like she is in a tree-fort. I don’t think that will stick tho, time will tell.
I take two chairs that I use. One sits at normal height and has a fold up side table. This one also has a built in soft cooler, pack straps and is rated for 500lbs. I’m only 200lbs, but it feels very sturdy and will hopefully last many trips. It stays at camp. I use it to socialize, eat a...
Greetings Programs,
I am a proud new owner of a Smitty Overlander XL / annex. While I’ve only had it out twice so far, I have sort of come to the realization that if I get into camp at or after dinner time, I don’t feel like setting up the annex. Granted I have not had the set up long enough to...
A great and solid stove. I don’t like using gasoline in mine, as it tends to gum up the tip of the generator, but Coleman fuel or adding a propane generator and using propane makes it a tri-fuel appliance that works extremely well for any climate, elevation or fuel choice.
it’s also one of the...
Someone might have suggested putting a piece of tile in the bottom of the oven. Does a few things for you- makes it easier to regulate cook temps, provides even heat for breads, much easier to clean burned on foods. Great for pizzas, pastry or even toast or tortillas.
Throw a griddle and a 12 in Dutch Oven in the mix and you pretty much have the kitchen covered. I have a Dutch Oven table I like to take as well. It serves multiple functions from prep table, grill table, stove table, eating table, keeping a water jug or cooler off the ground, the uses are...
You can spend more but I use two square milk crates each holds a 5lb propane bottle. Couple of ratchet straps through the bottle handles to the roof rack frame and bob-your-uncle...
I’m with MRose, grab a cheap Weber Grill and you can have a wood fire-pit, Dutch Oven enclosure, bbq cooker, etc. all in one unit. I even got creative with mine and removed the wheels and hung it on a tripod.
