    Betsy, my 1959 Jeep FC-170

Yep he has way more skill at FC work than I could dream of. If you haven't found it this site is very usefull http://www.thefcconnection.com . I am trying to keep my Fc's body as low as possible by mounting it on jeep CJ style rubber mounts. I guess you could have more engine clearance...

Looks nice I am curious to see how your V8 was fitted in relation to the cab tunnel .

    Overland Flatbed Truck

I haven't yet but that is my plan once I finish the body work on my fc. Have a storage system that mounts on the flat bed then my roof top tent will sit on top of that.

    Tube vs. Tubeless Tires?

Unless you like a thump, thump ride for the first few miles when cold I would steer clear of the bias tires. Also a stock rim is something around 4.5 inches wide, no way a 31x10.5 would fit safely on that. A 175/75R16 is the closest common replacement for a 6.50-16.

Diesel vs. Gas - Which is Better

Might want to rethink the transmission choice. A t-90 is a tiny transmission and I seriously doubt it would like having a diesels torque dumped into it.

    Any Fellow Michigander?

Yeah I went to school in the UP and got spoiled by the amount of trail options nearby.

    Any Fellow Michigander?

I am plotting a trip for next fall out to Magruder Corridor and then down around Moab. Hopefully my vehicle project is done by then. :sunglasses: As far as destinations on this side of the state I really don't know besides random trails and two tracks. I am just getting into this whole thing.

    Dream Rig

Hmm, $75K you say . Finish my fc170 for the first $5k then take the remaining $70K and have one heck of a road trip. I wonder just how far you can go on $70K. :sunglasses:

    Wagoneer Build

Excellent build, I like seeing the old vehicles being built up.

    1962 Willys Truck Build

Larger than stock tires with a factory ross manual steering box is going to be a work out. Been there, tried that with 33x12.50r15's. With your steering geometry I would think a common chevy k10 steering box would bolt on easily.

Toss in a summit racing 1102 or 1103 cam kit for a bit better power out of the 350. I am using the 1102 in my 307 sbc in my fc170 but have used the 1103 (before in a mildly build 350 with great results for towing and low to mid rpm power (it was in a 77 GMC k10)

Just keep the original FC frame, box it in the full length then swap your choice of full size axles underneath. It is stronger than the scrambler.

I have been told the curve is the same in the roof corners as the rear lower corners . Some have cut repair pannels from a bad cab to make the new patches on a better cab. As for what am I using for fuel tanks . They are rectangular aluminum fuel cells made by rci. The steering is a 90...

Been reading on the forum a while and watching the youtube channel so I figured I might as well join. My vehicle is a 1958 jeep willys fc-170. It is a build in progress but the plan is a Maggiolina RTT on the back with pull out drawers mounted beneath the tent for storage. It is far from...
