Who knew that a footlocker would be the perfect size for a chuck box! I'm set on building one myself and liking how your design is coming together. Looking forward to see it mounted and in use.
Yeah a fan clutch would have been easy if you didn't mention white smoke. If you would like to troubleshoot on your own you could buy a coolant system pressure tester. After pressurizing the system, watch the pressure gauge. If you're loosing pressure and do not have an external hose leaking...
Sounds like you need a new mechanic... Unless the 2UZ is different than other engines I've worked on, as long as you haven't hydrolocked the engine you should at the very worst have to replace the head if it was overheated and warped, but more than likely it'll be the head gasket. Unsure why...
Awesome budget/DIY build! Looking forward to seeing what else you do with it.
How are the Ironman tires? Been considering them for my Jimmy when I get around to purchasing... Might look into the Ironman MTs, I read the ATs don't do well in snow.
Gorgeous... That's about a 3.5 hour drive from me. Definitely won't make anything this weekend but I may have to add this to my list of future camping.
I'm a youngin.... but I learned to drive stick in this 1972 Bronco, 3 on the tree. Loved this truck and miss it dearly.
I used to be really into airsoft (basically take a bb gun that shoots plastic bbs, and shoot at your friends) but anyway we would drive out into the middle of the Arizona...
Hah no kidding. Unfortunately his timing chain tutorial is all on a 2006.... they changed a ton of routing in the engine bay in 07 as I'm finding out! I've been winging it so far. Hopefully this weekend I will be pulling valve covers and timing cover. Luckily I have 3 vehicles and can take my...
I am currently in the middle of doing a high volume oil pump, timing chains and tensioners on my 3v.... I made an educated risk when purchasing this truck. Has some chain slap at startup and then gets quiet with no VCT noise - typical of failed chain tensioner seals. I got a good price on it and...
Thanks for the link! I will have to keep them in mind in the future when I buy new tires.
Pretty sure a 31" tire fits in the oem location on my Jimmy, but I've considered mounting a 2 door fuel tank in that location for added range...
JK bumper! Love the ingenuity.
Introduction: I work for the railroad in a desk job, and I'm missing the outdoors more than ever. My two kids are getting older (3 and a half and 2) so my goal this summer is to get out of the house and try out some short overnighters. I've realized that western...
Already posted in the Rocky Mountain check in thread... But wow this thread has such great info, thanks everyone! Hoping to get out this summer and explore some of these places.

Hey all figured I'd poke in from the western edge of the state. Price you're pretty close!
This summer I'm hoping to take the kids out to introduce them to camping in my mostly stock Jimmy. Planning to start off with some overnighters at Chadron State Park. I'm due new tires so 30" ATs are...
Great build thread and the finished product looks awesome! Nice work.
You mentioned that your brakes were getting hot... Do you have an idea of how much the trailer weighs?
What a sweet thread! I'll second an earlier post, I love rusty stuff!
This is @bawesomfels old XJ when we were out exploring AZ north of Phoenix. I guess I'm not exactly sure on location, he could probably fill in exactly where we were, we went solo in his rig. Few old concrete structures...
Greetings, my name is Colin. Been subbed on YouTube for a while and have lurked the forums off and on until my buddy @bawesomfels bought me a membership for Christmas!
I live in the middle of nowhere panhandle of Nebraska with my wife and two little kiddos (2 and 3 and a half). Not much out...
