    Solid axle versus independent suspension

Independent suspension fail. Not my video 15-sec video, but demonstrates the issue with independent suspension. I did not have any issues taking that line using a front solid axel. Update: My apologies @MOAK, I posted based on the title of the thread. I failed to realize it was under the...

US Rocky Mountain OB Colorado Springs Monthly Meetup & Trail Ride

I believe it could be said that everyone on this trip got hands-on experience for how to do a recovery. I think every vehicle got stuck at one point along the trail.:laughing:

@carlo_donz I am 20 miles North of Denver. :) Are you planning to camp the night, I am and therefore I am willing to drive further for this adventure. However, I agree two hours for a half-day 4x4 trip is farther than I normally like to travel and I am open to doing closer trails in the future.

@JDGreens Alright, it looks like McDonald's (38.9903226,-105.0473913,223) it is. If I find my self running late I know were to try and find the group. I will be at a stargazing event the night before in Fort Collins, CO, so I may be pushing my luck. ;)

@Neal A. Tew I am not opposed to doing it. Does it also go by the enchanted Rockies trail name? When are you planning to go?

@JDGreens do you have the GPS coordinates for the trailhead? I would rather meet at the trailhead then Woodland Park if it's significantly north of Woodland Park. And you are for sure that you are camping?

Cancelled Great Sand Dunes NP via Medano Pass

No, you can not take any motorized vehicle into the dunes. You are allowed to hike and camp (with a permit and you have to be a certain amount of distance into the dunes); some areas you are allowed to ride horses. Here is a better picture from the top of the dune: Google Maps I recommend...

Cancelled Great Sand Dunes NP via Medano Pass

@carlodonz I have survived! @Neal A. Tew The campsite was big and luckily empty. As you can see from the snowless spots, the last campers were there after the snow fell. I camped at the drop pin you had originally suggested the first night and then went west to the park over the pass. I then...
