So apologies in advance for my lack of many good photos in this post - kid of got wrapped up in the after-work working on the vehicle and only had a couple hours so was moving pretty fast. Anyhow, this is a little project I've been thinking of for a while to address a couple of things:
First...
Ok, so latest road trip. I headed up last weekend to the Susequehannock Forest Performance Rally (STPR). I've crewed for teams there a couple times, competed a few times (including a podium finish a few years ago in the e30), but never gone to just hang out/spectate. So I packed up the raider...
After a long camping weekend, one thing that was already clear is even clearer: This truck is small. Yes, I can pack all my gear for a good amount of days (thankfully it's a giant square box also) but I have to put gear in front of other gear, and morning packup in particular is extremely...
Over Memorial Day, my buddy Andy set up a bit more of an "overland" trip than our usual weekend camping/technical 4x4 trips that are mostly centered on finding challenging terrain. This one was more of a 4x4 cruise and 3 days of camping, to see some nice areas and find some great roads. For the...

Got it finished up. Had to move the PS reservoir, which was trickier than expected to find good hose clearance (and had to get a longer return hose). But, seems to work fine.
I actually did think about it, as there is some clearance in there, but couldn't figure out where to actually have it exit above the hoodline since I couldn't really go through the horizontal part of the cowl - so it would have to exit out the side regardless.. On these monteros the stock setup...
With a longer trip coming up and apparently a lot of river/stream crossings, decided to finally get a snorkel. Not that I"m going to go too deep since I like my interior not soaked, but we do a lot of dusty trips so this should help with that . Anyhow, it was under $100, seems to be good...
lol for sure, though out east probably nothing more than black bears if anything (and I've yet to see one in the woods)
I did the clutch on the 924S when I first built the car 7 years ago (but probably only 30k miles) so hopefully probably have a good while before I do it again !
Looks like we're doing a 4-day trip through WVA and SW Va. over memorial day, so a few little things to improve the camping situation.
First, tired of going in the woods....
Though this is kind of bulky for a small truck. I may make up some way to just hang it off the back so it doesn't...
Forgot to post a few pics from 2 weekends ago. My rallycross got cancelled, so I booked down to George Washington National Forest to meet up with Andy and some of the other regulars, who were already wheeling/camping down that way. Nothing too notable to say, truck worked fine, met them up near...
Thanks, I've since also added a pair of holders for 1lb propane bottles on the side (behind the front seat), for when I don't have my 5lb tank. also added a small plug-bank with USBs and plug for the fridge. The plug bank is hardwired to the battery but has an on/off switch. The little bungee...
So, this post will be "hey I did a simple thing" along with "I am apparently an idiot," so bear with me.
At the forward end of the Sequoia's roof rack, it's just an open rectangle over the moonroof area. Not sure why I left this open, guess I thought I may want to climb out the moonroof onto...
ah nice - man, I do not envy you working on rusty stuff underneath - I did that with my first Sequoia and my old XJ (and some old BMWs) - I've now sworn I don't care HOW crappy condition a project car that I buy is, but I refuse to buy one that has any significant rust - which the Raider has...
A couple add-ons for the kitchen module thing. After trying out a bit more, I moved the cupholder to the other end so I could put in a multi-outlet power bank back there. This has multiple lighter-style power outlets, and multiple USBs (at my daughters' request so they can plug in all their...
Well, the Raider is pretty small and integrated in terms of gear (it has to, to fit stuff), so it doesn't have a kitchen, just a slide-out fridge and storage boxes + 2 Kelty kitchen bags for food stuff and coffee stuff. This build isn't for that, it's for my Sequoia, which I'm starting to build...
