Home sweet home!!! We have some campsites located out there we don't share either, and that not seeing anyone thing for 24 hours is the best part of the whole area ;)
Take his advice to heart folks, if you go up there expect to be alone and expect to need HAM communications to reach anyone for...
I had a feeling that we had hit primo spot on an off weekend. We were really surprised there wasn't more people camping from the Spartan Race since the parking and shuttles were on the raceway property and it's a pretty big event.
I've been playing this track on video games for as long as I...
Be the coolest kid and do some of the adventures out west that aren't heavily traveled and reported. There are a seventy twelve hundred posts about Alabama hills, death valley and the like. I challenge you to find the roads less traveled!
Lookie that pinstriping on the rental Exploder!!! Lol, bet the rental agent freaked out about that one. Nice pictures and report to a overly traveled and reported area, seems those shots aren't ones I've seen before - a nice change of perspective!
The lady and I enjoy running Spartan obstacle course races. We find it a good outlet for our pent up energy after working indoors for long hours, and it's a good excuse to stay kid-like in nature. Last weekend we had an event in Monterey, CA where we traversed a bit over 4 miles and completed 15...
Two of my favorite spots in the world, Brookings, OR and Lassen NF. I did not know there was a dirt road from Brookings to Crescent City, I would love the route info for that particular jaunt.
Neat trip to a remote and vital part of the country. I always find it interesting how quickly the BP and LEO respond to travelers in the border region. All the reports are that one is quickly intercepted if interacting with things in that region. Also always good to hear that legal citizens are...
Any hill spots overlooking town, easily accessible from the 215 or 515? I'm going to be doing this trip in a non 4x4 and low clearance vehicle with horrible entry/departure angles. I'll post all about it when I get back.
How 'bout some just north of town? I'm on a run down the 95 towards i40...
Been meaning to get over to hell hole for a while now... ever since I was turned back by all the closed roads after the winter before this last one.
Gonna have to make that trip soon.
We LOVE bowman!!! Looks like you are on the North/East side of the lake there, having traversed around the lake there. We usually camp in the large pullout just after the road up to McMillen lake. A little farther up, we like to camp out at Faucherie lake when it isn't crowded.
