Reviving an old thread...
But im headed out to Death Valley for four days in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone had gps waypoints/ route info that you can share with me?
Yeah, do Corral Hollow first for sure. I did that in my stockish FJ60 mellow and really beautiful. The good thing about Slick rock is that you dont have to do the whole thing. I went as far as the campsite on the river and spent the night there because I did not have sliders. It was awesome.
I would call the ranger before hand and see if they are open. They often close it if it gets too muddy and with all this rain and recent mudslides, I'd be surprised if they were open
Green light for prewitt! As Mike said, we just need to get to it from the east.
Mike is headed out on Friday midday and will try to report back.
Picklejuice, hallry and are meeting sat morning from the north and headed south!
Hard to say right now...kinda depends on if other campers are there. I figure that the first of our crew who arrives just scout the best spot for 8-9 rigs and keep an eye out for the rest. I have a tan 80's land cruiser that you can't miss. We should be there mid day
I am on the fence of buying hard cases (Tusk) or pelican cases like yours. What do you think of them? I prefer how they look but hesitant about the side opening style.
kids are totally welcomed!
Just want to confirm the group and routes
the following are meeting in Santa Cruz at my house at 7 am on Saturday. ( DM me for directions if you want to also meet here)
@ravenplague
@picklejuice
@Mike G
@hallry
Getting breakfast in Watsonville at Beach Cafe probably...
Here! The rig is facing south. If you look just past my hood you can see another spot. That is the one you originally discussed with the table and fire ring. Beyond that and past the trees to the left is the spot big enough for the trailer.
Alms campsite is north on the dirt road a ways.
Last time I was there, there were only one other car with dozens of spots to camp. Worst comes to worse, we split up for sleeping spots but hang with the overlandbound camp with the biggest fire until its time to sleep!
