and there's a ton to get out and explore around there! if you find yourself in the Spokane/CDA area hit me up, we have a pretty active group here and travel all over, last year we did 14 trips between WA, ID, MT, CA, OR, and Alberta. this year we have 20 or so planned, adding BC, AZ and Utah...
Looks like good weather, maybe an occasional sprinkle and a slight breeze.
I'm gonna try and bring my cargo carrier with a good amount of firewood. I've called the Libby Ranger office and we're good to have a fire as long as we build a fire ring, and disperse it after we're done.
Honestly it's a great spot for a set-up and stay for a couple nights. Plenty to explore, definitely recommend a rug or something to take your shoes off on before getting into the tent, it's not really sand but not really mud. Oh and bring your swimsuits!
Should be a lot of fun! Especially if we have the same weather as we did on the scouting trip!
These are from the other side of the lake, in the ohv park
Same. Gaia for all the trips, but OnX as a supplement for things like recent imagery (helps with early season and checking the snow regression), and seeing where things cross into private land (as frequently GAIA has led me into areas that though they public access, private land owners will...
Looks awesome! Definitely like the innovation but keeping the core idea that you came up with and incorporating your firsthand r&d over several years and hundreds of trips!
Just a reminder, the gpx file is on the rally point, Download it, AND offline maps, we will have service at camp (Sorry) but not in Douglas Creek Falls area (not reliably at least).
We will meet at the Maveriks in Airway hights At 0730 fueled up and ready to roll at 8.
We should be more...
Yeah a little late for this specific trip, but I have several more planned this year. so it will definitely come in handy. I do have a HAM with the Mars mod, listening would be better than nothing. very much appreciate the reply and info!
Heading out tomorrow to Scout the intended route. just to be clear, the trip is 100% a go, and I will have a route posted early next week, just trying to make it a bit more adventurous/interesting/scenic.
Recent imagery and OnX and snow levels in GAIA look promising. Still might be muddy with the melt off, but easily doable. Still pre running the weekend before, but things are looking good. Weather in vantage is going to be in the high 50's the week before(it's still too early for a long range...
Might just meet us at Frenchman Coulee and then hit up the Douglas Creek area on Sunday (my plan was to hit one part Saturday on the way to camp, and another on the way home)
Yes I'll open up another couple spots when I get home, that will put us at 9 rigs so that'll be the h heard cap.
Should be no issues with camp, and I'll prerun just to make sure it's all possible with snow levels. Frenchman coulee is definitely good, but the Douglas Creek falls area might have...
