i'm planning a trip from my current home in kelowna, to my old stomping grounds in eastern manitoba in may. i love old fire towers and am wondering if you know of any that i could drive to in the central or southern parts of alberta or saskatchewan.
i will have my son with me, and he's 2, so...
seems like a weird question now that im typing it, but how do you make toast? assuming you dont have a normal toaster. any gadget you have that works awesome? i love a sweet breakfast.
i usually carry my saw inside my fj. that needs to change to free up interior space and cut down on leaks and gas smell. its a small ms170. how do you carry yours? im guessing the roof is the popular option. any other ideas/pictures?
my fj is too small to sleep in with the back seats in, and they have to stay in, so i was checking out rtt. but i frequently carry a boat. more specificly, a canoe. anyone here rock that combo? looking for ideas and tents that might work with. thanks.
i saw a post about this from a few years back. all the pictures are unavailabe now. anyone try this recently? they are not cheap to buy, so if i could save $100 or so, im all in. some stuff online other places, but looking for stuff that has actual tested use in overland applications, not stuff...
we have a trip next weekend that involves a trail that has seen better days. there are some rocky rutty chutes that shouldnt be too bad, but a big washout almost crossing the road will be a bit more ot a challenge. we want to do it saftely and well. any tips or links that you can share? dont...
does anyone use a food dehydrator and incorperate that into their meal planning? we do for canoe trips but so far not for truck adventures. could reduce the need for a fridge as large. for the cost of 4 or 5 mountain house meals we bought a dehydrator and make our own. maybe share your favourite...
i needed to find a way to mount my hi-lift on my fj. was thinking inside, but it didn't fit anywhere well that fit my needs. thought about the spare tire, but it would block the camera and mounts are pretty expensive for that. the roof it is. a quick trip to home depot and this is what i...
obviously we gotta keep water out of the diffs. tons of write ups on relocation, but this seems way easier. thoughts? i have an fj, if that makes your thoughts any different. the air wouldn't vent, but does the air actually get changed out in a 4 foot long hose?
Anyone bring one? Obviously a small one. We have very small one we mess around with. We try to leave a cool bench at our favourite places. Maybe bring some cool wood home. What kind do you use, or not a thing you're into?
Obviously fridges are colder and better in most ways, but for me (i daily drive it) the benefit of the super easily removable cooler is a massive bonus. Anybody using a 12v cooler instead of a fridge? Looking for some mulit-day experience with temps, transportation layout, brands and power...
Anyone try this? Whats it like in your area? My free subscription i got with a new garmin gps is almost up and i probably wont renew it. Lots of cloud cover in some key areas and winter shots too. Makes summer navigation hard. Are there other options gor offline arieal imagery on a garmin unit...
it started as a little birthday party, but got bigger. 7 trucks and 2 bikes.
we spent 4 days trying to hit some old fire towers in BC, but things didn't go quite as planned. but 700km of gravel was dusty and fun.
no sense typing it all out here, just check out the trip report...
