I just moved to Bend about 1.5 years ago. We havent done much camping but just got a CVT so that is gonna change! We go out most weekends on day trips though. I have been to Edison, Santiam OHV, Cline Butte OHV, Three Creeks area, Pine Mt area, Millican Valley area, etc...
Bought an RTT. Went with a CVT Rainier model. CVT is local to where I live and seem to have nice products. My buddy grabbed it for me and took some pics of it on his Taco. He didn't want to take it off and give it to me :) can't wait to get out and start using it. Also bought a little buddy tent...
I have never really been a Jeep fan but my wife drove a 2002 kc for quite a few years. Was actually a really great vehicle. We bought it in 2007 for $8500 and sold it in 2015 for $5800. Definitely got our money out of it. Of course I lifted it, put bumpers on it, armor, etc... Had the manual 5...
In May I am running the sections from Prineville to Senecca, Senecca to Unity, Unity to Meacham, and Meacham up to Walla Walla. Trip planning thread is here http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/spring-2016-obdr.902411/ I am guessing we will be the first group on it for the year and we are hoping the...
I bought this in 2011. Flew out to Utah and drove it back to Oregon. I then stored it in the garage and it has been there ever since. I had big plans for this, but as so often happens life changes. This is a 1977 Toyota Chinook 4x4. It was one of the originals that was sold as a 4x4. The...
I was joking. I was actually the one that seriously pushed her into the Subi. Although I thought we were going to go with an Outback. She has driven an Audi Q7 for the last little bit and its a great car but when you look at price and just how darn big the vehicle is, I really thought the Subaru...
Seriously? My son and I might be in for the day on saturday if that is ok? My 80 is in the shop as we speak getting 5.29's and ARB lockers. It is supposed to be done by the end of the week but you know how that goes. Can you PM me a good way to get ahold of you in case it works out?
Funny how the off road world truly is a small world. Welcome to this community. I follow you guys elsewhere. I am running a portion of the OBDR in May (start in prineville, end in walla walla). I am over in bend and keep wanting to hook up with you guys one of these days.
Welcome to the community. I built an Xterra years ago. One of the better vehicles I have owned over the years. Yours is beautiful. What RTT is that? I will be in the market here soon.
Awesome write up @Bob I have a soft spot in my heart for Mexico. We make it down there once or twice a year. My parents have lived in Sonora for 10 years. There is so much I would like to explore down there. I have hitch hiked around Baja and done some of Sonora but I have barely scratched the...
I am also a fisherman in the Bering Sea and have been for a long time. We use synthetic for just about everything now (unless its a piece of rigging that is exposed to extreme heat). Like the others have said, "not all synthetic line is created equal." You have a range from cheap Taiwanese...
You probably have power behind it though. hahah. The 4.5L v6 doesnt push much. I have 4.10s right now and I dont like it at all offroad unless I'm in low. 5.29s will be awesome. Probably wont hit OD on the highway much but will still be able to cruise at 60mph
