Didn't have anyone signed up for this besides myself but, "The Blue, Brew, & 'Que Festival has been "POSTPONED" to Saturday, August 8, 2020.
This is in accordance with: Governor Cooper’s (NC) State of Emergency declaration and subsequent guidance restricting public gatherings greater than 100...
So... I have done the search thing and can't find anything about mounting stuff on the inside of your truck to the A-Pillar. Anyone done anything like that before? Thinking of popping off one or both of those little caps on the backside of the grab handle. Is there a bolt of some sort in...
Well, looks like you had a good spot and hopefully a good time. I made the trip up to Covington VA to do a ride with WVO. We had five vehicles with ten folks total. Had a great time riding the forest service roads and some two track trails.
The one water crossing with the sign "Not Recommended for Motorized Vehicles" was probably about a foot deep. Brian led the way with his Jeep Wrangler, then I went with my Silverado and Terry following in his Xterra.
Had a great weekend running around Western NC & VA. WVO Meet-up and trail ride on Sunday with @TerryD, @BRIAN NABY, @Tozan & Katelyn, and Matt Rodgers was spectacular; 2wd & full size capable (wouldn't necessarily call it "friendly").
GoPower Rechargeable Waterproof Flameless Lighter & LED Flashlight. Flashlight has high, low, and strobe. Stumbled across it at Walmart in the camping section. It is USB rechargeable and also comes with a neck lanyard so your camping buddies can't run off with it. Went back and picked up a...
Got to spend Friday night at the Veteran's Memorial Park in My Airy NC and Saturday night in the George Washington National Forest, Western VA. Little chilly but both sites were beautiful in their own way.
Big thing for me this past weekend was just getting out and driving! Definite confidence booster and encouraging to actually experience the capabilities of my 2wd full size. Went to the meet-up with the Western VA folks on Sunday. @TerryD planned out a trail ride that took us through the...
If you are on FB at all join the group; definitely worth it for info sharing and such. Especially with spring right around the corner I expect more of these to start appearing.
Nice use of the preexisting threaded leg holes for your horseshoe holder. First picture had me wondering why you didn't just extend the legs. :grinning: My welding skills aren't that great either. I can make metal stick together though, amazing what a grinder will hide.
I'm in the same boat... I just bought a pair of Midland GXT1000VP4 handheld radios. Hopefully that will give me what I need to stay in touch with others on the trail. I still may get an inexpensive CB set-up; and I an kind of looking at the whole HAM thing. I did notice that there are over...
I second @HeelsFan72 for starting out on Old Hwy 105. Beautiful views and easy camping. You might check out Mountains to Sea Overland He had done quite a bit of exploring in the Western NC and Northwestern SC areas and it is fairly easy to follow his movements.
If you use Gaia I have...
Just made plans to drive up on Friday afternoon and plan to camp right in Mt Airy at the Veteran's Memorial Park. That way I can just roll out of the RTT and down to the meet-up.
